The greatest numbers of abortions are performed by God in the form of miscarriages.
God does not wish for children to suffer and on occasion takes back a child.
In both Kings and Leviticus God instructs his followers to not only kill the children of sinners, but to kill the parents also.
The New Testament specifies that if your eye should cause you to sin, you are to cut it out, if your hand causes you to sin, you are to cut it off.
Jesus never spoke directly about abortion; however he had mercy on the prostitutes of the period who knew the process of abortion.
In the bible God gives over the control of the Earth to man in the form of free will. We are expected to control the Earth in the same manner as God. That of course would include abortion.
The 10 commandments say nothing of abortion. And in fact give the parent complete control over the child.
God gives control of our bodies to us under our free will. If a law was passed denying that free will when the bible clearly calls for the right to abortion, we would be sinners to follow such a law.
There are religions that have opposition to Abortion.
For example followers of the anti-Christ would oppose abortion, because abortion would be one of the few ways to end the future reign of the anti-Christ.
Satan followers would be opposed to abortion because it is a manifestation of free will. And Satan is opposed to free will.
Other than these items, religion does not address abortion.

Those are great resources for prolife info. Basically, the jist of it is (and I don't have the verses on hand) that the Bible says several times that people are birthed by God into their mothers' wombs. That means that an unborn child has a spirit and by having an abortion, a woman is murdering that spirit. Another good point is that, when a person chooses to murder an unborn child they are playing God, saying "God doesn't know what is best, only I do." So in addition to murder, blasphemy and idolatry (making a God to suit yourself) also come into the picture.

It isn't "biblically" wrong. There was no such thing as abortion 2000 years ago.
Morally, conservatives believe it is wrong because they take the extreme view that as soon as the 2 cells are joined, they make a new life.
Others don't agree, that the new life isn't created until it is physically viable on its own, outside the mother's womb.

Because it's breaking one of the ten commandments: Do Not Murder. Plain and simple.
Exodus 20:13 Thou shalt not kill.
People say it's not a life until a certain point, but by killing that "fetus" or whatever they want to call it, they are stopping the life that would have been.

There is almost nothing on abortion being taboo in the Old Teatament and, if my memory serves me right very little in th new Testament either.
Abortion is not taboo for the Jews and also most Hindus.
In Judaeism, a child is not rready for entering the faith until they are 7 days old.

It is considered murder because God does not intervene in the decision to kill the child. It is considered murder because the fetus is an actual living organism. If the mother is in danger of dying, the child can be aborted medically to save her life though.

From one man He made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth: and he determined the times set for them and the exact places they should live. Acts 17:26
Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are His. Psalm 100:3
This is what the Lord says - your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am the Lord, who has made all things. Isaiah 44:24
Who created the unborn

its not spelled out in the Bible per se, its entrirely up to individual interpretations of the Bible - that's why different Christian churches have different views on abortion..
is abortion murder? at what point does a foetus cease to be a parasite and become a living being?
