First homophobia is a lie, since no one is scared of them, felling sorry for them, pity for them, wanting them to admit thier sin. but scared no.

Next because gays will not accept the fact they live in sin and wish to try to force there beleif and life stye on others.
And force thier acceptance.

They are in fact two faced, since they demand acceptance, but will not accept those that do not agree with them.

All Christians are prejudiced, I guess is the point you are making? Think about that statement for a minute..."ALL Christians are prejudiced."

No Chrisitan is perfect. I am sorry that you expect them to be so, because we will never live up to your expectations.

Gays are not rebuffed by the Bible; nor should they be treated harshly by Christians. However, the act of homosexual sex is a sin according to the Bible. So are the acts of premarital sex, lying, stealing, speeding, etc. Why? Because that is what the Bible says.

I am trustly sorry that people get so caught up in the right and wrong of things that they forget the human element. I understand that all people have tendancies and desires. Nobody is perfect, even Christians. God knows that, too. He knows everything that ever happened to you. God loves everyone, He loves you, and he wants to be closer to you.

If your referring to unreason as sin, such as murder, stealing, adultery, lieing, and so on then I think I can help you. In the Bible the story is pretty basic. God sent his Son, Jesus, to earth to make a connection with man. To teach us God's love, expectations, and miracle strength. God saw that man could never fully live their lives to his expectations. So, Jesus died on the cross in place of our sins. Then rose from the dead 3 days later to show that He lives forever. When man has a personal relationship with Christ and has asked him to enter our heart He makes us clean. Man still makes mistakes and sins, but this is why you have a personal relationship with God. Pray or talk to Him about things you are struggling with and ask for guidence and strength to do the right thing. Is homsexuality a sin? It's not in the 10 commandments, but the Bible certainally tells stories that frowns on it. A whole village was destroyed with brim stone that fell from the sky because God was upset with the lack of love and respect that these people had for Him. One of the things that was accounted for in this village was that God was upset about men having sex with one another. Personally, if homosexuality is a sin then it's a sin like any other. God loves you no matter who you are or what offensises that you have made against Him. All sin is forgiven through Christ. As far as weather homosexuality is a sin, I don't know. I know plenty of people who choose this life style and they are wonderful people and great parents. I have a lot of respect for them. If God loves everyone then he loves homosexuals too. These conflicting and unclear issues are the reasons that Gays are not excepted warmly into Christianity. It's a difficult subject for people to sort out so they rather pretend it's not there. Remember, the people in a Christian church are just people. Sinners who make mistakes and are not any better than anyone else. If a homosexual person goes into their community and makes an effort, they can find a group of Christians who are willing to leave this judgment up to God and welcome them into the Christian church.

Because the Christians haven't figured out how to fix a gay person yet. Perhaps if they could just figure that out, they could move on to curing people of other far less harmful things like cancer and alzheimers, parkinsons, diabetes, etc., etc., etc. Because let's face it, when it comes to how I'd want a love one to end up, better with terminal cancer than being gay. (note the sarcasm)

If only they would look at themselves and stop judging other people and leave that up to the "Big Guy!" Ah, but then they would need to find something new to harp on people about...

Some "Christians" are afraid of homosexuals because they can't admit that they are sinners too. Gays are not rebuffed by Christ, although He knows that they are sinners. God embraces all sinners. He knows my sin, too, but He still loves me.
The question is, do we love Him enough to turn from our sin? With His help, I am trying. I think that is the most important distinction. Will the homosexual admit to God that he is a sinner, and turn to Him for help in overcoming his sin?

"unreason" isnt a word. Try again.
St Peter the first pope says that Christians are to give reason for what they believe. Your impression of Christianity is misinformed
Some churches have gay leaders and support gay marriage.
Some dont.

No Religion is about god
rather it's a set of rules to establish order.
ie, men marry women have kids and raise a family.
not covet your buds wife or wack your boss when he pisses you off. dont rip off the 7/11 ect...
These rules were first set down through Religion.
anything that challenges these upsets their order of things.

as far as god goes
since he made every one in his/her image it's likely he loves gays as much as he does strights!

Remember, GOD hates the sin, and not the sinner.

That is why HE send HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST to take away all our sins. But, we must embrace Christianity give up our "sinful ways", and the "gays" refuse to give up thier sinful natures.

The Bible states that its an "abomination" regarding homosexuallity. So, dont practise the "sin" and if you "are that way", practise "abstinance" to assure that you make it to Heaven.

I wish you well..

because it's christianity.

and, fr_chuck, are you queer? because it seems to me that only a person who has actually experienced queer attraction would know whether it's fake, a choice, a lifestyle, etc.

a completely straight person would have no way of knowing whether being queer is a choice, what it's like to be queer, etc.

and this isn't a chauvinistic, "man, you gay?!!!!11!!" response. it's just logical. unless you want to be viewed as the "pervert", "deviant", "pedophile", etc. that you think queer people are, you should stop assuming things about who we are.

thanks.
