You don't have to go to church to be a Christian, but it helps.
Before I go any further. Please don't let what others have said above put you off. Christians aren't there to brain wash you, but some do get carried away.
I am pleased that God has done a miracle in your life, 'Praise the Lord'. Fantastic. You go and give you life to Jesus and you'll never be the same again.
Now I have a few questions for you.
When you was a child did you have to go to school? Could you not have bunked off and go play on the park, or go shopping , or some other fun thing? Why did you go? What would have happened if you didn't go? Would it have made you less a person if you didn't? Did it make you more of a person because you did?
Now you might be thinking that I've lost my marbles, but I have a reason for those questions.
You went to school to learn, I know your not stupid. But if you never went at all you could have survived. You might not do very well when you left, and the possibilities of getting a job would be really slim, but you could get by. But by going to school you learn, through that you hopfully get a good job, with good money.
The same applies to Christians and church. You don't need to go to church you'd still be a christian. Sadly though you wouldn't learn anything. Going to church is like going to school. We learn more about God's love for us. We grow as Christians. We meet other Christians. We worship Jesus who died for us.
Now I can't tell you should do, only Jesus can and will do that. But one thing that is really important more than going to church, that is giving your life to Jesus. Its more important than church, its more important than anything in your life.
I will also say, at the moment church might seem boring and for old farts, but believe me it can be really fun (If you find the right one.) I've just come back from a church weekend away and I can tell you we've just had a fantastic time. We've had a good laugh, played practical jokes with each other.
The choice will be up to you. But I think if you become a Christian you'll want to go to church.

Being a christian isn't just about going to church on a Sunday. Also you may not have time to go on a Sunday you may be working, you may be out with various voluntary aid societies or the territorial army. Going to church is just one very small part of being a christian and it also about the way you live your life. You will find now that there are modern churches such as the modern Jesus army that don't always meet on a Sunday, they may meet one evening during the week. What i will say to you is this is a big decision and one that is not to be rushed into. It is a decision you need to make for yourself without pressure or influence from others. Perhaps taking a week or so off from work to give you some breathing space and time to think about things would help.

God has done something marvellous in your life. The bible clearly states that Christ has loved the church. The church is a very important aspect of a christians faith, you do need church family and most pasters are true messengers of God. Church service only lasts approximately 2 hours on Sunday, this is in no means too much time to give God out of a 7 day week. You have received a miracle, now you have to dedicate your life to God. Reading the bible is instrumental, it gives you the tools needed to live a christian life and also it equipts you to spot those false prophets the bible warn about.

My wife experienced a miracle this year, and since then we have dedicated our life to God, without him nothing is possible

Being a Christian doesnt mean that you go to church every Sunday, act all religious etc. Christianity is a lifestyle, and being a Christian is all about having a personal relationship with God. Its good to go to a good church, because fellowship with other Christians is important, as well as the worship and teaching that goes on in church. I suggest you find a church where you are happy and comfortable (ask the people who prayed for you to suggest somewhere) and the best thing to do is talk to the pastor and I'm sure he/she will fill you in and answer your questions better than we can!!

You do not necessarily have to go or be able to go to church every Sunday.

If you had a new love in your life [ boyfriend] say for example would you want to go to be with him regularly or not?.

You have found your love for Jesus why would you not wish to go to meet with him in public to show your love openly is their a reason. If you can not attend church regularly and there is a good reason why then the Lord Jesus will understand.

You can meet with the Lord Jesus at any time any where and ask him prayerfully into your life to help you overcome any difficulties that you might have at this time. He will never leave you nor forsake you always remember that.

Trust and believe with faith you can ask the Lord Jesus to come into your life repent of your sins where ever you are presently - bow down and pray to the living God.

If you are a Christian you will want to go to church every time the doors are open. You never know when God will do some miracle and you might miss it..
when you are a new christian there are a lot of things to learn and you will not learn staying home..

I see that you've gotten a myriad of responses to your question, many of them with contradicting answers. This is one question I'd really recommend you take to God in prayer, and read the Bible to see what it says about that (ask some leaders at your church to help you out).

I will repeat what some of the other answerers have already posted, and that's that Christians should *want* to go to church. We should want to meet with one another and worship God at least one day a week, if not more. If you are honestly too busy because life is too difficult, then I suppose you could excuse yourself from regular church attendance for a time being, but it should be one of your main priorities to get a schedule worked out that will allow you to attend at least some of the time, if not every week. And while you don't *have* to go to church, asking that question makes me wonder if you've begun to experience God in your heart yet. Because once he starts working in you and you set your eyes on Jesus, you will *want* to go to church.

As long as you've found a good church, that is. Some churches will only serve to push you away at times, but the desire to go to church, the desire to worship God should be there regardless.

Please consider this, God in what ever way He led you to that experience today, did so for a reason. It would be to your best interest to take a pause in your life and search out why. There are most likely things you can only learn in that assembly that God wants to show you. Attend the church for a season of your life and learn and experience all you can while there. If and when it's time to move on, you'll know. Just don't sell yourself short by rushing through this time in your life, just because you may not be the most comfortable. Be open minded, but never lose your open mindedness.

It means you should want to go every Sunday.I am a christian and to be honest I haven't been going as often as I should but you should try to go. Congrats that you found Jesus. Just remember God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage. So if you have troubled times don't get mad at God. I think I read that in a e-mail. Also if God brings you to it, He will bring you through it. It is going to be a rocky journey, but with God you can make it. God never gives you more than what you can handle. Angels are rejoicing for you today! :)
