We recently painted the work room in an old (1920's) house. The floor was never finished. We did not use a drop cloth and now there are speckles of paint ( 1 cm- 5cm) everywhere. What is the best, quickest, and cheapest way to remove the majority of the spots?

If it is latex paint you can try something like "OOPS" from DIY Products. It is specifically for dried latex paint. I believe the primary ingredient is xylene, a petroleum product.

Be sure to follow directions and keep the room well ventilated.

If you can ventalate the rool well - get a gallon of laquer thinner - it's fairly inexpensive and use a small wire brush. You can also spend about 25.00 on a gallon of liquid paste stripper called "Klean Strip" and brush it on with a brush and let it sit for a few minutes then clean it off with a scrub brush and laquer thinner or for low odor clean it off with mineral spirits.

if you are wanting to preserve the floor - don't strip it with lacquer thinner or paint removal - just, ever so gently, use a window scraper (with sharp blades) and carefully scrape up the spots.
