Yes many generations have thought that thier generation was the one to see the end BUT there were things that were not in motion for that to be possible.
1- Israel became a nation again in 1947. That was the first sign of the times.
2- Read 2 Timothy 3:1-7, never before has this been so evident on a large scale.
3- In Revelation two witnesses show up and preach God to the people. They are killed and lie in the streets. The Word says that the WHOLE WORLD will watch it. Untill very recently, that was impossible. I.E. internet and satalite TV.
4- The mark of the beast, whatever its form, was impossible untill recently, microchips under the skin are a reality now as is the possibility of a cashless society.
THere are many many more examples and the only ones who see it are the ones who know thier bible. Of course many of those who do not believe think we are nut casses out of touch with reality. It is these same folks who will welcome the anti-christ and his ways for they will seem at the time to be the right move for humanity.
Well, the joke will be on them I am sorry to say.
Look into prophecy, that is the key to wheather any religion is worth its salt.
By the way, remember old pres Bush speaking about the "New World Order"? Its almost here.

Oh my yes.
Ever since Jesus' death AND resurrection, people have thought they were living in the last days. But, some of the signs that have come about in the last 100 years could not have happened in Jesus' time:
Israel becoming a nation
The invention of the computer
Automobiles
Lawlessness (much worse than in Jesus' time)
Wars and rumors of wars (More wars now than at any time in the history of the world)
It's getting close!

What's even more amazing is that those same signs have been occurring for nearly two thousand years and people keep claiming the "END IS NEAR, REPENT!!!"
The message isn't new, and it sure is getting old.
Even Jesus claimed "THE END IS NEAR, REPENT!!!":
"Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who shall not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom" (Matthew 16:28, Mark 9:1, Luke 9:27).

They are all over the place but some will not see them if they bit them on the nose. Some will say it was in all generations but not quite. That is a dangerous belief as it makes you more lax about doing what you know is right. It will be very soon and most will be caught off guard.

Quit listening to other people and form your own opinions. If you keep listening to others you'll be controlled by them. Read the Bible for yourself pray for understanding and wisdom. I suggest the Bible in Modern English not the King James .Do not take scripture out of context. Don't quote certain passages to win arguments Above all else try to love God as much as He loves you.

The apostle Paul asked the same question when writing parts of the New Testament.
The first church believed and taught that Christ would return during their lifetime.
When/if he does return he is going to be appalled by what his followers have done in his name. It's not going to be pretty.

Dude, Jesus isn't returning. All the bad stuff that's been happening is because people are idiots. All the natural disasters happening around the world are due to the fact that Mother Nature is pissed off at us. She's cleansing herself of the morons that treat Her like garbage.

besides some socio-political coincidences from the bible (credit cards, thoughts on embedding chips to keep personal finances always available), we're no closer to "the end" than they were in 999 A.D. when they thought the end will come in 1000, or the early Christian sects which believed that Apocalypse is just around the corner (in 300-400 A.D.)

I'd stop listening to your uncle if I were you.
As another poster has already mentioned, even Jesus proclaimed he was living in the end times and that the people present during his sermon would experience it. Now they are all dead, and his prophecy never came true.

Yep, I saw Jesus getting off the bus in front of the Piggly Wiggly on Wednesday. He gave a big shout out to everyone here.
