There is only one God, we were created in his image. He gave us free will, he gave us dominion over he things of earth. All He asks in return is that we love each other and that we worship Him, live for Him, and have faith in Him.

Since being on yahoo answers I have realized that a lot of people not only hate Christians, but also hate God. They will chose to believe that by accident we were created with all these bodily functions. They chose to believe in some other fake gods.

God has set forth the bible as an instruction of how to live and how to worship. He has sent his son who we killed, he has sent many messengers who we have beaten and killed. He has done many marvelous works yet we still disbelieve. What more do you want him to do? Those who live for him and have faith in him deserve to be with him in glory. Do you honestly believe that those who turn away from him, worship the devil or some god who does not exist deserve to be with the God they have denied? I don't think so.

It's not your fault that you were taught to believe in more than one god. I'm not preaching, just sharing bible knowledge in answer to your question...
Exodus 20:3: God's word says... Thou shalt have no other gods before me (none other than the God of heaven).
John 10:7: Jesus said… Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door (the way of entering into the kingdom of heaven).
John 14:6: Jesus said... I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh (no one arrives, gets there) unto the Father (the one in heaven), but by me (except thru Christ).

God, Buddha, Shiva, Muhammad, Nature. It doesn't matter. Some people would tell you that their God is the only God but Jesus said" In My Fathers' house there are many mansions", And He didn't mean that the more pious the bigger your house. He meant there are many ways to God. Pick your own path. Jesus preached Love and Compassion. If you can live by those rules and do no harm to anyone., choose your own way.

This is the strategy of the churches to keep their people away from studying other faiths, because they know their ground is weak

Eastern religions have have strong philosophical base, even though their outer face may not look attractive

That is why none of the Eastern religions have a concept of Blasphemy and none of them condemn other believers to hell..

The Tao, Budhists, and Vedanta philosophies are far away in mental evolution than semetic religions

That is only based on your religion. The ancient religions were mainly polytheistic. They believed in multiple gods and goddesses. In my religion, the "Supreme" one has two parts... female and male... the goddess and the god. Each have their own aspects fromt he various pantheons, based on what we need. Also, there is no heaven or hell in my belief system. As your spirit/soul lives on, you are reincarnated to learn more until your journey is done. But that is my belief.
In a way.. your question is unanswerable. There is no one true faith.

Honey, you begin with what you're taught...but you don't have to stay there. Find things out for yourself...become a seeker. There is so much beauty in the world and so many things to discover. Just ask God to help you, and lead you to what is true. It's a fun journey. Don't let anyone crush your spirit. "To thine own self be true."

Monotheism is the belief in one god, -mono meaning one. Polytheism is the belief in more then one God, -poly meaning many. And what is this Heaven you speak of? Mine or yours. We all make our own Heavens and Hells.

God said that thou shalt have no other gods before me. He is a jealous God he only wants you to believe in him. There is no better God than him!

yes, God gives us rules to live by and to only love him is all your really need to do. Either you believe in him and accept what he has to offer (love, peace, joy, and enternal life) or you believe in something else.
How hard is it to accept
