So called "child protective services" took my son away from us after he received a spanking on his butt. Yes, there were some bruises. However, he did not complain to authorities. The former mother-in-law called the cops upon hearing of the event.
CPS did not care about the reason for the dicipline, did not investigate, did not ask my son if he wanted to stay with us, and generally were extremely hostile to myself and my wife. They have decimated our family. We will never be the same.

I think you all are being too harsh on her. Parents should spank their children, spare the rod; spoil the child. However, what did you spank your child with to leave bruises? I was spanked as a child and I grew up with an understanding of right and wrong. I have never been arrested, I graduated college, and lead a normal life. I work with children and I can tell you a million stories based on CPS and spankings. I think they should let parents be parents! Children need discipline, but no one deserves to be abused. I am pretty sure you will be able to get your child back, they usually make parents undergo classes such as anger management. I am sure you will do whatever it takes to get your child back. I hope your family works through this and overcomes it. God bless you.

Why would you call him an adolescent brat? And you left bruises on him? That sounds like a beating not a spanking. Maybe CPS stepped in for a good reason this time.

First of all, referring to your child as an adolescent brat leads plp to beleive that there really isnt a whole lot of love there to begin with.Try really hard not to judge plp i dont know, but toning down your description might make your side of the story a little more beleivable. And not all is lost,if you coopertate with cps they will return your child after you have finished whatever it is they tell you to do.In the meantime be sure to let your child know they are loved and you will all be together again someday.God bless.

Although I don't agree with your method of discipline, I know all about the human rights atrocities committed by Child Protective Services. If you need help to defend yourself against these government criminals pretending to protect children, please visit the LIFE (Liberty Independence & Family Equality) site at the address listed below in Source and especially read the information at the link for The Family Court Hearing - A Constitutional Defense. Good luck to you and please reconsider the way you discipline your children.

The fact that you call your kids, brats, is terrible. You left bruises on your child, you call him names, yes, cps did right!!You dont deserve to have kids.Thats so sad that you would beat your kids, to the point of bruising, and say oh well. They had no business getting into it.Yes they did!!!Yeh to the former mother in law and I just hope that the children got put with the ex mother in law instead of awarded to the state. You put yourself into this and you dont deserve your life to be the same.Im sorry.....but its true!!!
