It sounds like a dumb question, but I have no experience with one of those, and I'd like to know. Thanks!

A straightening iron is a heating device that takes curley hair and straightens it. Basically you heat it up then run your hair through it (it sort of looks like flat scissors) to straighten the hair.

It's one of those irons that you used to straighten your hair...the same thing as the curling iron but this one is flat...its really easy to use but it takes quite a while....so u clip your iron on a small strend of hair and pull it down slowly from the top to the bottom....u might have to do this a couple of times to make it really straight... (hope this help) =)

Well a straightening iron straightens out all of your curly and wavy hair. You first plug it in, then wait for it to heat up.Then, simply take small sections of hair, place the irons at the root of the section and work through to the ends. It is advisable to apply a light pressure at the root and increase the pressure towards the ends for more control of the hair.

I'd suggest you using a flat iron, it's the more modern version of a "straightening iron".

The CHI is a really good iron;it's realyl good if you have really thick hair. Yo just start at the top or your hair and run it down your hair to the tips.
