Citations from the holy quran:
[2:126] "As for him who disbelieveth, I shall leave him in contentment for a while, then I shall compel him to the doom of Fire"
[4:56] Lo! Those who disbelieve Our revelations, We shall expose them to the Fire. As often as their skins are consumed We shall exchange them for fresh skins that they may taste the torment.
8:14 That (is the award), so taste it, and (know) that for disbelievers is the torment of the Fire.
10:4 ...as for those who disbelieve, theirs will be a boiling drink and painful doom because they disbelieved.
17:10 And that those who believe not in the Hereafter, for them We have prepared a painful doom.
18:29 Say: (It is) the truth from the Lord of you (all). Then whosoever will, let him believe, and whosoever will, let him disbelieve. Lo! We have prepared for disbelievers Fire. Its tent encloseth them. If they ask for showers, they will be showered with water like to molten lead which burneth the faces.

All Gods are Dick Heads, It comes from having to much power and nobody to correct their behaviour, combined with the effects of poor parental guidance, about all you can expect from some one with no mom or dad really.

I have done much study on this and I would say probably not. Remember this though that Allah means god. It is not a different god but the same god. It all depends on who tells the story and which path you choose to follow. Remember the devil will plant seeds everwhere, so a belief may seem tempting but it could be a dark path.
Those our my beliefs though. For others who believe god is unforgiving is wrong and a misinterpertated. I believe god if forgiving and caring not disliking the creations he made.
It is a different way to look at things but this is where I do not follow or believe in being muslim. Its not wrong on my part its just my belief. For others who do, that is there choice. Hey thats the great thing about living in the free world.

salam walkaum, to the muslims that read this.
I just happen to have 5 Qurans next to me for my research LOL.
Yes Allah is most merciful and compassionate. Like the brother said before, you have to read the whole Quran before picking out just some suras in the Quran. majority of the people that think there is no mecry or compassion in Allah is the ones that dont belive, cus they cant imagion them selfs in the hell fire. Allah knows best of our intentions and our actions. You have the CHOICE to do right or wrong. when you know what is right and what is wrong. but remeber everyone will be responsable for your actions in this world . and if you do wrong. and you dont belive in one Allah then you will burn. simple as that .

Everybody knows that nobody is perfect. If God comes as a judge, then none will be spared!. Think of why judgement was not executed swiftly now. Isn't it obvious that it was due to His mercies and grace for us repent before judgement day?
Note: I am speaking in the context of the Bible and not Quran.

Allah never promised He'd be nice all the time, now, did he? Name me one God that gifts believers with rainbows and sunshine and puppy dogs 24/7.
And in response to some comments: Oh, yeeeeah, like *all* the ills and suffering in this world are the fault of some God and not people themselves. It's called "self-restraint" - use it.

Allah is merciful and compassionate because if you made a mistake and asked for his forgiveness from your heart he will forgive you because he knows you are sorry. Also if your good he send you to heaven as a reward for your hard work. People who go to hell are those who aren't sorry for their sins and aren't willing to seek god's forgiveness. I am a muslim myself and I have made many mistakes, but I've asked for Allah's forgiveness and I feel that he has forgiven me because he believes I am a good person. So don't misunderstand your God. He is just describing where you go to if you are a sinner.

Any religion unblievers will go to hell.
But there is one thing I just learnt yesterday.
An unbeliever is one who knows the truth but denies it. Therefore, if you are not convinced Islam is a true religion, are you really an unbeliever...... I dont think so.
Therefore, a person who will go to hell will be the one who knows the truth but denies it.

yes he is merciful and compassionate for those who believed in him. you can't just pick out some citations from the quran, which i am not sure if you got it from a real quran or not, and judge our god like that. you must read the whole thing and then make your judgment. yes he punishes those who disobey him, especially those who knows what they are doing is wrong but do it anyway, but you forget to mention how he forgives and rewards his believers in many ways when we stick to his teachings.
