I've seen it here, the Bible is the weapon of the solider of God. Did anyone ever make a mistake and go too far with their sword of God and kill someone with the Bible?
Sticks and stones and Bibles might break my bones but names like Jesus will never hurt me?

Why do you find the words of the bible so offensive?

That is a puzzle to most of us.

IF you even enterain the thought of "bashing" someone over the head AND LYING to them just to sway them to your / their view, then I would definitely NOT want to convert! These thoughts appear to be hypocritical and go against what the Bible stands for. I feel sorry for people like this, because that is how religous zealots behave - - like terrorists who will harm others just to get others to their way. May God & the Universe have mercy on all.

Actually what I have seen is a two way street. Just how people are. If, they Christian they Bash the non-Christian. IF, they a non-Christian they Bash the Christian. I call it being Human. We see this from early Childhood in the Schools. Kids put down those who are different.

No, of course it isn't OK to lie, nor should one really "bash" people over the head -- rather one should patiently and gently reason with them.

The fact that people misuse the Bible is no proof that it or Christianity is wrong. People are sinners and are going to do that.

I would imagine it is OK. When you look at history, it used to be done by swords and torture. Hitting them with the Bible seems quite mild.
How do you know Christianity, or your Verina of it, is right?

Of course it's alright to lie. One of the church fathers, Eusebius (Spelling?) wrote an entire chapter on Pious Lying. It's perfectly fine to lie to the people so long as you are bringing Glory to God.

When I try to convince them the Bible is full of excrement, may I hit them over the head with a pile of dung?

No, it's not okay to hit someone with the bible.
Or the koran, or The Dark Tower,
And why don't you just stop trying to convert people?

Jesus said in Mark 16:15-18
"Go you into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believes and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believes not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name they shall cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover."

If these things are not following us as believers? Are we believers?
