i need to know how to take gum off of a velvet-like fabric that is on my friends couch. whoooooops =\.
help me ASAP

Try freezing it with ice cubes and then pick/scrape it off.
When gum is stuck in hair, peanut butter is the remedy. Good luck with the sofa!

you could try 'freezing' it somehow and then picking it off?
I have tried this before by putting clothes or shoes with chewing gum on them into the freezer (in a bag of course) and taking them out 2 - 3 days later and just picking off the gum.
However with furniture maybe ice cubes in a plastic bag or one of those first aid freezer packs (in a plastic bag) placed over the gum area and left to freeze it) might work? When its cold and hard try just flicking it or lifting it off - but do be careful not to tear the fabric.....
If you get a better answer that works pleeeeese let me know?

I heard peanut butter will take off gum but then you have to clean off the peanut butter. Try holding ice cubes to it and freeze it off. Be patient, it will take time. At least the water from the ice cubes won't hurt the couch.

You can use an ice-cube to freeze the gum, then scrape it off (gently). Blot the water up with a dry cotton dishtowel and then let the material air dry.

Apply ice to make it hard enough to scrape off with your nails.

A warm most cloth should help. It will help make it soft, and movable.
