I don't get it either.
Even if there were people who altered parts of the Bible for what ever reason they did, it doesn't change my personal spirituality.
Even if it was sometimes done for sinister reasons, it doesn't alter my life in any way.
The Book is a fiction. The movie is a Fiction. I'm convinced the controversey is just for publicity. I can't imagine anybody really views this story as a threat to religion/christianity. If they do, reality is not their friend...

Because it is a threat to everything they believe. It rattles the very ground they walk on. If their faith is strong enough, however, The Da Vinci Code should be a good place for them to begin a debate with a non believer. It should be their golden opportunity to convert. For some it is. Others are just fearful that all they have believed is wrong. Those are the ones who don't really have faith in what they supposedly believe.
And you are right, it is just fiction.......unless it isn't.

I am a Christian and I am not mad over the book..it is FICTION..
As for Harry Potter, I have not read it, nor have I ever seen any of the movies..that is my choice..my own free will... :)
