A wart is caused by a virus that it is in your skin. It will continue to grow and eat your skin tissue. Planters warts on the feet, grow inward and other skin warts grow outward and form a brownish bump. Warts should be removed using over the counter wart treatments. Also, if they are being difficult, warts can be removed by a dermatologist.

A mole is a skin mark caused by the pigments in the skin. It is not the result of a virus. Moles can vary in color, size and whether they are raised. Most moles are benign (not harmful) and do not require treatment.

A mole is a pigmented area of skin. A wart is a bumpy projection on the skin that is caused by any of several papillomaviruses. Papillomaviruses are what cause pappilomas which are essentially warts.

Simply put, moles are pigmented areas of skin and warts are growths. Moles, if they change significantly in color or size, should be checked by a doctor as they do not always remain or represent a benign area of pigmented skin.

Warts are always benign and can usually be removed with a topical medication or other simple treatment. Warts are also different in that the cause is viral.

Moles appear in many forms, but are usually brownish in color. Warts are not, they appear as raised, bumpy, and usually remain flesh tone or white in color.

Hope this helps.

A mole is a brown raised bump on the skin that does not hurt... it's like a freckle, but is raised.

A wart is something quite different. It often hurts to push on it.
