ive noticed this guy that lives near where i live and im pretty sure he has O.C.D. i know this because i have it. ive never met anyone else that has ocd and would really like to talk to someone about it. i just think it would be nice. anyway, i dont know this guy at all. plus im married and have a baby so i dont want him to get the wrong idea. i really just want to talk to someone with something in common. anyway, should i approach him? or do you think he'd flip out? what if he doesnt have ocd. im about 99% positive that he does..... help! id really like to talk to someone with something as big as ocd in common with me because i never have before! but im scared to approach him, i mean how does one do that delicately? btw, ocd = obsessive compulsive disorder.

I was diagnosed with OCD 5 years ago and you can email me to chat if you want. Also, I think you can approach him. Just be honest...it's always a good policy!

One thing I would NOT do is approach him and say "Hi. Do you have OCD?". That could set him off. That would be like someone approaching a woman and saying "When's the baby due?" only to find out she's not pregnant.

I would approach him with your husband and just make small talk. Do NOT mention OCD on the first meet unless HE brings it up.

There are support groups and maybe you can talk to him there (if he goes), or at least find out a more tactful way to approach him.

Good luck.

Maybe if you approach him, you should mention the things he does that you think are because of ocd, but just innocently, as if you were curious, and maybe you'll luck out and he'll say he has ocd. From there, you can discuss yours with him.

No. Although you're comforatable with it, it doesn't mean he is / ready to be comfortable with you about it.

At most, you can get to know him a little more and open up about YOUR OCD....but never make him think that you're doing it to "out" him.

It seems as though you have a compulsion to talk to him!
