According to the Bible, yes, there are "people" on other worlds. However, also according to the Bible, our world is the only one that has fallen to satan's lure of sin. As such, the peoples of no other world will visit this world before sin is erradicated and this world is made new, and perfect, once more. On the other hand, the Bible teaches that satan drew a third of the stars (angels) from Heaven and that satan will perform many wonders in the last days. Thus, if any perceived "aliens" ever did truly come into the light of day, they would only be satan and his angels masquerading as such. So, would it weaken my faith to see satan and his angels "in the flesh" (as it were)? On the contrary, this would strengthen my faith even more to see such further evidence of satan's workings. ;-)

No. I know that the universe is very large beyond our capability to grasp. There are as many galaxies as there are stars in our own galaxy. But if scientists ever discover a life form on another planet I don't think that it will be anything more than a single celled organism. And even that would probably be fossilized remains. If they do find a planet like ours with diverse life forms and a complete food chain then I will be very surprised but it won't weaken my faith in God. The odds of finding a bacteria on another planet are pretty slim already. How much smaller are the odds of finding a set of diverse life forms that make up our ecosystem? And smaller still would be the odds of finding a life form as advanced as humans. Human beings are so much more advanced than any of the other life forms on this planet that it's practically inconceivable that even we should be here. And to think that we can even understand the scientific discoveries to date and even the concept of living in a universe. We consider some animals to be fairly intelligent but I'm pretty sure they don't know a thing about the universe or that there even is one. To them there isn't anything beyond the sky and they haven't even wondered about it. We really do take ourselves for granted. If there is an intelligent race out there besides us they would probably be in another galaxy. In my opinion it would be statistically improbable for there to be another advanced race in our galaxy and I wouldn't expect to find life in very many galaxies either. Another problem would be finding intelligent life living at the same time that we are. We are dependent on the sun and moon for sustaining the life that is here. To find intelligent life on another planet you would first have to find a planet with a large moon that is the correct distance from the sun. The moon regulates the tides and they are vital for controlling life cycles of many animals. The sun will eventually run low on hydrogen and will grow in size and literally burn up everything here possibly even the whole planet. So the point is that a particular star that is hosting a living planet will only be around so long. So finding life on another planet at this particular time would become even more difficult. Scientists realize that for us to have a moon as big as the one we have is also difficult to understand since the Earth's gravity isn't enough to capture it in orbit. This is yet another factor that can't be easily explained but is part of the reason why we are here. There are too many variables that have to be satisfied to realistically say that there is a high chance of finding intelligent life anywhere beyond our solar system. Earth is our only model showing the conditions necessary for life to exist.

As an atheist, it wouldn't weaken my faith. I would be concerned of an alien race with a more twisted fanatic religion than the one's we have on this planet.

Nope. Not at all. In the ideas I have stirring in my head, god created the entire universe and all of the life in it. I just hope they are a peaceful race that can teach us new and useful things like how to use our resources more efficiently, the secrets of traveling through space, etc, and it would be really interesting to learn about their world and culture and how they have evolved over time.
If they aren't a peaceful race, though, we're in for big trouble and to me, that would all be part of god's plan.

Only if i was a christian, cause then i'd have to accept that there are more than humans and that to say God is Jesus/a human is selfish and primative stupidity! But try this
42.029. And among His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the living creatures that He has scattered through them: and He has power to gather them together when He wills.
(The Holy Qur'an)
