While you are a virgin, this does not mean your breasts are not being stimulated... in considering all things, one would have to take that into consideration... another question to ask, would be are you actually leaking? That would more constitute lactating... while you could be producing colostrum, you would likely only know this if your nipples were in fact getting some kind of stimulation....

I think that it is very important you get checked up... and certainly don't panic... I'm pretty sure that I have read that even newborns may "lactate"... or have a discharge; it all has to do with hormones.

I am guessing that you have started your period, so you are no doubt full of hormones… are you on the pill? The Pill SI a hormone…To my understanding a body on the pill “thinks” it’s pregnant… this too might lead to lactation…

Just be sure you get a check up, if you haven’t talked to a doctor about it I am guessing you are probably due for a doctors visit anyway…

Know this, once you are able to lactate, most likely you will forever be able to. That’s what the "wet nurse" was, she was the one who took care of the babies while the mothers worked (as in Biblical times or maybe even other societies still common practice it... I really couldn't say)

Hope this helps and hope you find out that everything is just as it should be...

Milk discharge can have a lot of different appearances, depending on the stage of the milk. Colostrum sometimes can resemble pus; it's a little thicker and clearer than regular milk, and milk can take on different colors and consistencies and all be considered normal. Since you're not pregnant, you should just have it checked by your Dr. to rule out any infection or hormone imbalance.

COMPLETELY NORMAL!! Don't worry about people telling you this is not normal, because it is. Unless of course you are male. Your hormones fluctuate often and that can cause the milk production. Too make you feel better talk to your doctor or a nurse to confirm that this is normal. Your body can produce breast milk at ANY time post puberty. This happened to me the first time 6 years before I had my first child. I talked to my sister-in-law, a doctor, about it and she assured me that it is perfectly normal and not to worry.

TO JACKIE: Not to scare you, but "probably cancer." Hate to see it if you were trying to scare her.

I don't know how old you are, but I would definetly get this checked out. Anytime you have any major changes with your breasts or other parts of the body, you should seek help with a doctor. This could be serious. Don't wait. There is a form of breast cancer called Inflammatory breast cancer or ibc. This is a little known form of breast cancer, that can strike any woman at any age.

this is not very professional but it could be in idea until u have consulted with ur doctor: sometimes in the case of extreme sadness or depression, the prolactine gland secretes hormones that lead to lactation, consider urself to be very stressed? this might be the answer but again, its not very pro, c a doctor.

I have known women who lactated a bit at their time of the month in spite of not being pregnant. See the doctor for your peace of mind, but I doubt if it is any problem at all.

Yes and if your boobs are'nt swelling, I'd say it's really just a little discharge which is common in many girls. But if it's alot, talk to your doctor.

It may be okay, but I'd go to the doctor. If it is off colored, like yellowish or something, I'd worry about mastitis. If they are sore and the color is clear or whitish, no worries, bag-balm will help. Yep, its for cows, but I used it when I was breast feeding and when weening, worked miracles!
