It's called sleep paralysis, or old hag syndrome. REM sleep hormone is released (what keeps you from kicking so much and acting out your dreams) and you are not in the REM stage of sleep usually happens early in the sleep wake cycle and is something folks with narcolepsy suffer (the falling asleep all the time disorder) Most folks that experience it feel a 'doom' or 'evil' feeling associated with it some even feel pressure on the chest. Hence the name old hag syndrome also researchers believe some of those 'alien abduction' folks may have it. Some folks truly believe they have been attacked by the spiritual realm and it's not a nice experience. More common in the late teens to early thirties no cure just move a small muscle like a toe and you can wiggle out of it.

Yes, its pretty weird. Very very rarely I will realize that I am in a dream while I'm still asleep, too. It dosen't ast long before I wake up, but if it's a dream where Im in a store or public place I try to like run around and smack all the girls butts before I wake up.

That is called sleep-time paralysis and I suffer from an advanced version where you also feel terrible shocks throughout your body. There is no way to cure it but most often it goes away after the age of 15. I find that simply closing your eyes and trying to go back to sleep works best. Concentrate on breathing. Don't struggle because it will only panic you and make it worse.

Yeah, one time when I was about 16 I was having a dream and I suddenly became very afraid and I woke up and someone who was bending over me straightened up. I thought it was my cousin who shared the bedroom next door and I was trying to move and ask her what she wanted but even though I was straining to move I couldn't.

The dark figure moved into an adjoining room, I lived in the top attic floor of a 3 story Victorian house and had 3 rooms to myself, and then I thought I heard a loud rustling like the person was shuffling through some papers on the table or something and suddenly I broke free from the paralysis. It had lasted for about 10 seconds or more and it has never happened to me before or since. I got up to see who was in the room and no one was there so I went into the third room but the only thing there was an open hatch to the roof looking up into the night sky.

Needless to say I was stunned and I started thinking about demons and that the rustling wasn't some papers but the sound of wings as the creature took off into the night sky.

I wasn't a Christian back then but now I know that God knows his people before they ever come to Him and He watches over their lives, thank God!

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. Ephesians 1:3-6

Yes, I have and quite a few times. It's very scary. I even try to call someone to help me but no sound can come out from my mouth. I understand that it happens when you are very tired or under stress.

Yeah, lots of times. Your spirit is outside of your body, astral travelling, and your body wakes up without your spirit inside it and thinks, "Oh *&%#, I have no spirit, I must be dead!" It takes a second for your spirit to come back into your body. Just ask God for it to stop happening, and it will though.

Yes. It's a chemical reaction in the brain while sleeping. It keeps you from sleep walking, etc. Those who do sleep walk, don't have this chemical reaction. It's also how they explain the UFO abductions. LOL
