Proof #14 - Examine Jesus' miracles

If someone were to come to you today and say, "I am God!", what would you do? Yes, you would immediately ask for proof. Of course you would. And you would not want goofy proof. You would want real, solid, tangible proof.

No normal person, and I mean no one, would accept anything less than rock solid proof from a person who claims to be God.

Why should it be any different with Jesus? Jesus was a man who claims to be God. If he is God, then he ought to be able to prove it in a real, inimitable way. If he cannot prove it then, quite clearly, he is not God.

A Christian would say, "But Jesus HAS proven it! Just look at all of the miracles he did in the Bible! He healed the sick! He changed water into wine! That PROVES that Jesus is the Lord!" Does that make sense to you? Imagine that someone, today, were to come up to you and say, "I am God, and I will prove that I am God by healing the sick and turning water into wine!" What would you say? Be honest. You would not believe this person because:

Everyone has seen all sorts of "faith healers" who can "heal" the sick. And we all know that this sort of "healing" is quackery. If it were true, then we would not need doctors, hospitals or prescription medicines.

Turning water into wine... Doesn't that sound like something that a B-grade David-Copperfield-wannabe magician would do in a nightclub act? There are a dozen ways that you could stage things to make it look like water is turning into wine. There is no reason why a normal person would accept a magic trick as proof that someone is God.

Neither of these miracles can be scientifically tested today. Not one of Jesus' miracles left any tangible evidence for scientists to study.
It is as simple as that. If someone claimed to be God today, you would never believe it if the evidence consisted of faith healing and magic tricks. Never. Yet billions of people claim that Jesus' faith healing and magic tricks prove that he is God.
Let's imagine that Jesus truly is God. What might he have done to prove it? He could have started by taking one of his most famous quotes from the Bible and acting on it. In Matthew 17:20 Jesus says quite clearly:

For truly, I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.
To prove that he is God, Jesus would have moved a mountain. Especially since it is so easy. And Jesus would have written something down to explain himself. Here's what the first page of Jesus' book might have looked like:
My name is Jesus, and I am God. I know there are a lot of people out there who will doubt that I am God, so let me start off by proving it to you. Take a look at Mount Sinai. Everyone knows that, until today, Mount Sinai stood near here. It is the mountain where God, my father, gave Moses the Ten Commandments.
Mount Sinai vanished this morning, and what was left in its place was a perfectly smooth, polished stone base measuring four miles square. Hundreds of years from now, people will find that Mount Sinai landed near a place that will be called Newark, New Jersey. When scientists dig into the mountain, they will find that the bottom of the mountain is also completely smooth and polished, and that the bottom of the mountain in New Jersey perfectly matches the polished plain nearby. Scientists will be able to align the mountain and the plain, looking at it rock crystal by rock crystal at a microscopic level. I have said many times that, if you have faith, you can move mountains. I moved Mount Sinai to show how easy it is, and to prove that I am God.

I know that that may not be enough, so let me offer a second proof. If you draw a circle, you know that there is distance across the circle. Let us call it the diameter of the circle. There is also a distance around the outside of the circle. Let us call it the circumference. If you divide the circumference by the diameter, you get another number. Let us call it Pi, and its first 6 digits are 3.14159. Pi is an irrational number. It is a number that is made up of an infinite number of non-repeating digits.

There will come a day when machines called computers will calculate billions of digits of Pi. If you calculate Pi out to the millionth trillionth digit, here is what you will find:

9823456451237823492278583495083498745....

Now, having proven that I am God to any rational being, through my documentable movement of a mountain and through my foreknowledge of Pi at the millionth trillionth position, here is what I want to say to the human race as your creator, and as the creator of the universe...

Wouldn't that be awesome and amazing? If we had such a book, and if Mount Sinai had actually moved, then there would be no questions about Jesus. We would all believe that he is God. How could we not? Imagine what such a book would say on the following pages. A book like that, I am sure, would leave all of us in awe.
Why would Jesus not do that? God, supposedly, has already written a book called the Bible. And God, supposedly, has already done all sorts of things according to that book. God, supposedly, parted the Red Sea, carved the Ten Commandments into stone, went to the trouble to incarnate himself, etc. So why not have Jesus write a book, and leave behind real, tangible evidence for all of us to see?

Miracles are shown by jugglers, and magicians, not by saints and gods.

If god comes to me, he even need not tell me about him...i will know He has come !!!

And god does not come like an ordinary person ....he is the highest state of awareness and consciousness, where we can reach...and no proof is required there, but we cant prove to others but ourselves

well, if Jesus had written that book, would you really believe that it had been written by a person 2000 years ago? Also, Jesus wasnt english speaking, and some of the things you said cant be said in Hebrew. Third, at the time of Christ, it was not as easy to change water into wine as it is now, especially when he just told servants to draw water from a well, which they did, and poured it into wineskins, when it came out, it was commended by a guest at the party as being the best wine he had tasted all night. In order for this to work Christ would have to have had powdered wine in the wineskins, and to this day I dont think they have figured out how to do that. It wouldve been wiser of you to say someone just made that up than to say oh that's an easy magic trick.

Finally, and most importantly, there is the matter of faith. Faith is defined by Hebrews 11:1 as "being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." When we witness something, it becomes knowledge, having faith is very important to Christianity. Knowing for certain would just make everyone automatically Christian, just like we're automatically human, and that would eliminate free will from acceptance of God, and He wants to give us choice.

The problem my friend, is that Jesus never claimed to be god, it's the church and it's followers who read the Bible and claim he is God.
The concept of God can be a whole another debate but let me give you an example that let's say I start a small business with few other partners called "XYZ" and come to your place and say "I am XYZ", it will mean 2 simple things.
A: I am a nut case.
B: I am a representative of XYZ.
The church has picked choice A hence we see a growing number of Agnostics and Athiests in western world these days because once they claim he is "THE GOD" then others ask questions and they do not have any answers.

On the other hand, Jews refuse the prophicies of Jesus and Muslims believe that He was a God's messenger. You pick the most logical answer.

I find it rather funny that the first thing you see is the "Believers" berating your Ideas with the same "it is because it is" crap then follow it up with arrogant dismissal. I'm behind you man. I'm no Atheist ( I have my own beliefs) But I have never seen the bible as more than a story book with some interesting ideas on how to live our lives.

To all you "Faithful", I'm not saying that I do not trust the word of God, I'm saying I don't trust Man. God gave us his/her words, and we the people garbled them. Have you ever played the telephone game? Pass something along long enough and after everyone adds there own twists and omits what they don't like, you have lost all true meaning.

A bit of advice- be passionate and faithful, but not for objects. If you believe in God, Don't quote some massively misinterpreted slab of recycled paper towels to try and prove your faith to anyone!

You are absolutely right in telling that somebody in the earth can claim that he/she/it is GOD.All the analytical skills you have are to be naturally appreciated by correlating and corrobarating the quotes and quotas of the undertanding faculties of yours as well as all beings in genaral. But if you can combine the total understanding of all the so called intellectuals in the GLOBE you would necessarily come to a conclusion that it is infinitecimal compared to the INFINITY.I have already answerd someboy that a word in existence should be there to identify an entity or it should be removed from the Dictionary .OK even assuming an abstract object ,yet to be identified, the cumulative intelligence of the entire humanity from the start of the life forms[presumably 2.5 billion years,as found out by the scintific community]ought to have eliminated the word itself from the usage.A nd another thing I came to know is that Jesus had declared himself as the son of GOD which is avalable only in the form of scriptures and faith.A nd another thing to be taken into consideration is that you,as a questioner can you authentically say that you have all the faculties of understanding(atleast all the available human perceptions)individually or cumulatively to perceive the abstracts of nature? So the intellecttual understanding of this particular subject is beyond the scope of sensory perceptions and either you have to believe or be blessedwith the extra sensory perception. You have only zeros and ones as Binary system for getting through the socalled virtual world i n the electronic age try to merge 0 with 1 , or prove infinity as zero.Another clue to this is to make the spherical/global entitities into linear combinations either symmetrically or assymmetrically into definite modules from zero to infinity..No time continuing this explanation and so try to explore the ..........................................

You ended your thesis with "So why not have Jesus write a book, and leave behind real, tangible evidence for all of us to see?".
My answer would be, you're gonna haveta ask God that question. I seriously doubt there are currently any humans alive who can adequately answer the questions you've put forth in a manner which would quench your need to disprove the existance of Jesus.
My question to you would be, "Why do you even care enough to ask these questions since you appear to be so certain God does not exist?"

"Faith is the substance of things hoped for; the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1

- I don't need to see a mountain moved or water changed to wine.

I see God & Jesus & The Holy Spirit everwhere and in every walk of my life. I see them when the sun comes up in the morning and moon appears in the evening. I see them when the leaves fall off the trees in the Fall and reappear in the Spring. I see them when a child falls off his/her bicycle and their mother or father are quickly at their side. I see them when a stray dog or cat is taken into someones home. I see them when my family comes together. I see them when I argue with my husband. I see them when my husband holds my hand or gives me a backrub at the end of a stressfull day. I see them all day long, even when I am stressed, tired, full of fatigue and completely exhausted.

The Lord (God, Jesus & The Holy Spirit) is my shepard. The Lord is with me in good times and bad times; He will never forsake me.

I don't need a new book. The Lord and the "Faith" of his people have already written one.

Your eyes are turning brown.

Psa.37:20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.

Psa 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

I would say, that's wonderful, so am I because we are all individuations of the whole of God. Just as a drop of water from the ocean is made up of the same matter as the ocean, all the drops together form the body. So it is with all souls and God. All souls make up the whole of God. Therefore, we are all God.

Ah you are looking for real proof, they will tell you have faith, make sure is blind faith.
Don't you get that is fairy tale, taken from all kind of pieces, start with Zoroastrian, add Sumerian, put some Greek and you have a soup of contradictions. That is the holy book.
