Question for Muslims regarding marrying age?

Muslims: We already know that people will reply to this question with hatred and ugliness and childishness, so let's you and I grin and bear it. Ignore them, they're not worth a reply.

Let me first say that I have deep respect and love for Islam and Muhammad (pbuh). What I don't understand is how it's permissable in Islam for a girl 9 yrs young to marry, and how Muhammad and Aisha consummated their marriage when she was only a child of 9 yrs. Can a Muslim please explain how this is permitted? Please know that I am not attacking, I am deeply curious.

I never wanted sex at the age of 9, and I certainly would never want it with a married man, unless he was my own husband. Please do not lump me in with the seedy image of Western women. You may have contacts in Europe who say that some girls there lose virginity by age 9, but hey, I'm not one of those girls and I'm not European either.

Furthermore, my intent was never to be cruel on any level. I am asking a serious question, without trying to insult anybody. You, however, slyly slid in a deep insult to me.

I hope you think before doing something like this again.

Sunnis say Aisha was that young. Shia Muslims are famous for being the historians of Islam and they found that Aisha would have to have been 17 or 18 when she married muhammad because of the year she died. The sunnis did not put the year of marriage and death together. Just so you know it is hadith that said she was 9, not the qur'an. According to islam only the Qur'an is reliable, the rest is from man and is questionable

As for age of marriage. it is when puberty and maturity is reached.

Now, When a girl reaches the age of puberty (menstruation) her body is capable of accepting a man's genital, so before she accepts it illegally Islams guide her to marriage, and if she can wait till further age she has the right to, but she has no right to stay alone whole her life.

1- It is a lie, Aisha was not 9 when she married prophet Muhammed (ignoring many Hadeeths in Bukhary that talk about this).
2- This is to give her his teachings in order to convey them to next generations (although Abu Huraira told more statements than Aisha, and also Fatma would do the same job).
3- To prepare her to become the first female scholar in Islam (although she was harmful to Islam in Osman and Ali times).
4- To be a link between prophet Muhammed and Muslim women in matters that prophet Muhammed was shy to talk about (although all her statements about those matters were told to MEN not women).

Well because there is no age for a muslim girl to marry back then but now it's changed, and that back then they didn't probably know the difference between the ages. Think of it like 2 back then they thought might be 20 or something like that. Because we are going back millions of years. I am a muslim girl and I know this.

Well..those time wasnt like now. Where at 9 children are still small and petite. But those time 9 years old was quite matured but not ready enough to have intimate relationship with the husband. As for Prophet MUhammad s.a.w., he married Aisyah at age of 9 but hav the intimate relationship with her after she reach her puberty.

I believe if we respect other people religion it will go the same to ours. Thanks for being such a diplomat in asking as question.
