You asked the waiter if your fart stunk? I would do the same thing as a waiter, I'm not going to smell some guy's fart to see if it smells. It dosn't matter if ti stunk or didn't stunk. And seriously your at a restuarant.- people might've lost their appetite.

If your wife said it stunk, then of course it did. I can't believe you asked the waiter if your fart smelled. Yes, that is rude. If you must do that you should go to the restroom, and do it in the presence of men that probably won't care, instead of a dining room full of people eating. I feel sorry for your wife, you remind me of my father-inlaw, nasty man.

Are you asking if it was rude for the waiter not to involve himself? If so- no, it wasn't rude of the waiter.
But if you're asking if it was rude to fart in a restaurant, argue about it, and call another person's attention to it, yes that is rude.

Yes, you should not have farted least of all in a restaurant (a place where people EAT) and you should not have asked the waiter about your fart. You were aggravating the whole matter.

I was a waitress for many years. The kind of behavior you describe is what made me hate the job and think that a lot of people are rude, ignorant and stupid.
It was rude. You are a pig.

Yes! First, don't fart at the table, yours or in public - go use the restroom. And don't put the person HANDLING YOUR FOOD on the spot like that. Chances are he farted or spit on your steak!

Yes. Arguing about it in public and involving an employee was definitely a social blunder. But, "yours doesn't smell too bad, but everyone Else's STINK".

Yeah, you should not be farting where someone could smell it. You should have went inside the restroom and handled your business. How rude!
