Short haired dogs constantly shed. Medium hair length dogs shed heavily two to three times each year, and require occasional grooming. Long hair length dogs require frequent, daily grooming and shed lightly two to three times each year.

i highly reccomend poodles. they are extremely intelligent (in the top 5 smartest i think) and they don't shed. we've had a toy poodle for 5 years and we've never ever had to vacuum or clean up any dog hair. it's been great. also, poodles are hypoallergenic. (my mom is allergic to dogs and has never had a problem with our poodle)

Try a Basenji, they don't have fur they have hair. They also clean themselves like cats. They don't get that doggie smell and have a wonderful personality.
GOOD LUCK!
