The Dachshund Club of America has a great site with information on everything from house breaking to exercise needs.

One of the main health risks for dachshunds of any size is becoming overweight. This puts added strain on their backs. With daily walks and a close watch on her food, you can avoid this easily.

I wouldn't worry about supplements at all right now. Most high quality food will have the nutrition she needs. I would consider trying Natural Choice or Royal Canin foods. Both are good foods that use a meat as their first ingredients. If she has any problems eating the food, you can moisten it in some water.

Aside from all that, the best thing for her is your love and patience. Puppies are a hand full. She will frustrate you as often as she makes you smile. Have fun and enjoy this time.

If you feed a high quality food you don't need to worry about supplements.

Look for food with no corn and a quality meat source (no bone meal). I would also avoid food that has several different grains listed in the first five ingredients.

There are many good articles online about nutrition. Do some reading and then go to the stores and really study the ingredients. There are some brands that are expensive yet still not very good foods, so study labels.

Also look for articles on Dachsie breeders websites for more breed specific information like appropriate protein/fat for your breed.
