If you would like to know, I HIGHLY suggest that you take a history of the middle ages class. All of the men you mentioned, Isaac newton etc were very familiar with the writings of all of the Arab scientists and philosophers. The rennaissance probably would not have even happened if the islamic world had not preserved all of the knowledge achieved by the egyptians, greeks, romans, and all other great civilizations that had existed previous to them. The islamic world was the most enlightened and advanced part of the world when london was just a village. Even if the rennaissance would have occured it would have been set back by hundreds of years. Columbus found the new world using navigation tools invented by muslims used to find mecca from any location in the world to know which direction to pray to. So you can thank islam for just about everything, actually. I'm Christian, by the way, but Islam's contribution to the world is immense and undeniable. Hope this helps!
By the way, you MUST accept answers including the middle ages because all the men you mentioned lived not long after the middle ages. The fact is that you just want to hate them and cant accept any contribution that they may have made. This isn't even a real question.

Well where did Algebra or Math come from. And all the oils in Iraq that you are stealing. And there are many creative artists and writers. You need to do some research. Because Muslims have done so much, from science to math. Why would muslims create war when it goes against their religion. Terror and war is never in mind of a muslim.

Muslims did contribute to the world of science during the middle ages when they were more civilized and tolerant than europeans. They did a lot of research on chemistry, mathematics and astronomy. I'm not talking about the so called "scientific" facts in Quran, I'm talking about real research. They also taught Europeans the modern decimal numbering system(which was invented by Hindus in India). Although it was not their invention they spread it throughout Europe, without which we would not have this computer. BTW , they taught the Europeans trigonometry too.

During the Middle Ages in Europe, Muslims were doing more than the Christians. The biggest thing in my opinion was the series of achievements in medecine. These people revolutioned how we care for the sick today.
By the way, if we are seperating achievements by religion, Einstein was Jewish. (He was still Jewish even if we aren't seperating achievements.)
Please don't make assumptions about the last millenium based on the last 5.

Guess where we get much of our mathematics? Algebra was created in the Muslim world. Some of the best religious poets are from the Sufi tradition. Ever heard of Rumi? How about Omar Khayyam? He was the Da Vinci of the Muslim world. I recently read his book the Rubaiyat. I highly recommend it, if you scratch below the surface of what he is talking about, you will see he not writing about getting drunk on wine and sleeping with lovers. He's talking about spiritual bliss. Really amazing.

They didn't contribute any technology? Hmmm...let's see....algebra, which has allowed for scientists to think in huge and very small numbers like physics, quantum physics, astrology.....and surgery to name two I can think of off the top of my head. If I researched it, I could come up with more. No Isaac Newton? How about
1. Abu Abdullah al-Battani
2. Abu Raihan al-Biruni
3. Abul Wafa Muhammad al-Buzjani
4. Abu al-Nasr al-Farabi
5. Al-Farghani
6. Abu Hamid al-Ghazali
7. Al-Idrisi
8. Ibn al-Baitar
9. Abu Ali Hasan Ibn al-Haitham
10. Ibn al-Nafis
11. Ibn Khaldun
12. Ibn Rushd
13. Ibn Sina
14. Abu Marwan Ibn Zuhr
15. Jabir Ibn Haiyan
16. Mohammad Bin Musa al-Khawarizmi
17. Omar al-Khayyam
18. Yaqub Ibn Ishaq al-Kindi
19. Abul Hasan Ali al-Masu'di
20. Abu al-Hasan al-Mawardi
21. Mohammad Ibn Zakariya al-Razi
22. Jalal al-Din Rumi
23. Ali Ibn Rabban al-Tabari
24. Thabit Ibn Qurra
25. Nasir al-Din al-Tusi
26. Abu al-Qasim al-Zahravi to name a few. They are just from Spain. Look them up; I'm not going to do all the work for you.
Here's a question: What have YOU contributed to the world but bigotry and prejudice, so far?

I think u lack of reading..
we does medicine (word) come from? Well from a Muslim greatest inventor of cure (Abu sina)..
we contribute alot to world..look in encyclopedia if u dont believe me..look the section for compass..the Muslim inventor create it.
Look for the 1st person who created way to do operation to human..it was the Muslim doctor..read and read and u will learn how to respect other people faith and view..u r not living the world alone..the are lot of people contribute to the world no matter what their religions are.
Respect other people religion as we can make world a better place to live.

Well, before Muhammad SAW people were blindly obeying the Bible and their priests, without any questions they believed whatever, The Qur'aan invited to science, so the first towards scientific knowledge were Muslims scholar, read it long ago, can't remember their names, but Abu Sina, Ibn Taimiyya were of those followers of the Qur'aan, who walked towards the science research, and i think without them we all would have still be believing in the flat world theory, and earth edges theories.

Hello friend,
PBS has made a very useful documentry on Islam and it's works for the modern world called Islam: Empire of Faith.
I can also argue on things Islam has offered in past and in present as a Muslim but you might not related to me as much as these non-Muslim scholars...
Please see my links in order:
