I'd have to guess that this is probably a little psychosis along with the mania. Psychosis (including hallucinations and loss of touch with reality) can happen during manic phases. During manic phases some people believe certain things that are obviously not true because of the mental state they are in. They can see and feel things that aren't really there. That would be my guess as to what you are talking about. I don't know that bipolar disorder causes any heightened threshold for sensations.

Since our brain and heart systems are 'wired' (operate on electrical impulses), it seems logical that any and all electromagnetic energy would have some effect. Even the earth has magnetic grids, so the reasonable question would tend toward 'how could we NOT be sensitive to these phenomenon.
Having personally experienced bipolar disorder, even the refrigerator being on has been too loud at times. But I believe that being surrounded by electricity has an absolute consequence to all living things.
My pets and my plants are considerably more peaceful and content with less 'technological' interference, which leads me to believe, that, although bipolar disorder may exacerbate the sensitivity, all organisms are affected.

Bipolar disorder is different for each individual that has it.. personally, my manic side has many psychotic qualities when it gets waaay up into a spike.. auditory and visual hallucinations do happen, I am living proof :) for these individuals the disorder can easily be misdiagnosed as schizophrenia.. and it just may be? There is still a lot to be learned about the affliction and its many different varying qualties that are unique to each person trying to cope with it. The right medication has worked wonders for me.. but it took many different combinations for me to find what works. Now the ups are not so far up and the downs are not far so down.. but they still exist.. Having the disorder under control has made life manageable again :) Not only for myself but those around me as well. It was very tough on them to have to watch me fall apart and be powerless to help. Educate yourself and loved ones on the illness.. do your part to end the negative stigmas associated with being bipolar.
To answer your question directly from a personal point of view.. yes .. definitely possible that you may feel more powerful that superman and have abilities beyond comprehension. But is it real?
It has been described as a dangerous gift or being blessed with a curse .. and it is so true!

Some radio frequencies affect the human nervous system, but the effect is minimal and direct exposure to a high powered transmitter is necessary. the apparent sensing of radio waves is an illusion, like the belief that a person can read other people's minds, or sense their feelings through telepathy that accompanies some types of schizophrenia.

when i have my high i am to high to have that kind of sensation but i don't think you can have the sensitivity for electro-magnetic radiation. If you think that it's your high make that sensitive because when we are in high we can do everything and thing it's a miracle. By example, for me when i had my high first it because i don't us my medication and i can stay awake during many hours and talk about something that i don't know and imagine some solution like for some of sickness, i'm thinking that i am invincible...wow, somebody want fight with me, come on i will win. But forget my wheel chair i can fight with that. I think you understand what i mean.P.S SORRY FOR THAT MISERABLE ENGLISH but i try to do my best.

Unlikely, unless "normal" people have this capability also, which doesn't seem to be the case.
Most mental disorders are chemical imbalances and it's not likely that it would affect a radio receptor if one existed.
