do you feel frustrated, angry, annoyed, unbalanced each time you have to deal with an atheist? No not at all. And I'm a Christian (gasp).Personally I don't, I have met and ohh my goodness have been friends with atheist's. Spirituality subject wasn't discussed with such venom them again I don't force my beliefs nor do I allow them to be forced so no one has\ was trying to convert each other basic respect was present. So different in person vs online it seems attack and belittle is the name of the game not cool in my humble opinion. Arrogance and hate are not good for anyone. Atheist's have the right to exist as much as I do I don't control the rain nor am I the judge thank you very much. I believe diversity is good for folks let folks have the religious systems or lack of them.

I do not dislike atheists. I do not feel frustrated, angry, annoyed and unbalanced each time I "have to deal" with an atheist. I have met many atheist whom I like. I do not think that atheists "should not even exist."

On the contrary, I have no problem with atheists.

Some atheists feel frustrated, angry, annoyed, and unbalanced whenever they deal with Christians. Some feel a need to "bash". I feel sorry for atheists who have these problems. Personally, I think they have self-esteem issues.

I have met some atheists I like very much. I have met a few who have wit and humor, and who have challenged me to think. This has been very good for my faith, and I thank them.

It is not for me to say whether or not atheists ought to exist. God seems to think they ought to, or they wouldn't be here.

:)

One of my best friends is an atheist, and to tell you the truth, it is my hope that someday she will find a church of some sort, Catholic or not, in which she can be comforted. Sometimes it aggrivates me to see someone turn away the idea of someone who will always love you unconditionally, but I also understand that this idea along with many other theological concepts are not easy to grasp. I myself have struggled through my faith, but as I grow older and learn more about my faith, I better understand how I can accept such an overwhelming concept of God. I like atheists as much as any other religious person, because they too have a moral system and are just as lovable as any other person that I would meet. I do not hold atheism against anyone.

When you ask whether atheists should or should not exist, do you mean the concept of atheism? Or the actually people who are atheists? It is my personal hope that, like I've said, every atheist comes to a point where they can accept some sort of faith -- religion exists to comfort and guide people in a moral life style, while helping them reach out to a community that agrees with their philosophy on life. I would never want a person to simply disappear off the face of the earth because they refuse to accept the image of God. A person is a person, someone to value and cherish.

Eh... I don't like generalizations. Most atheists I've met in real life have been pretty decent people for the most part.

What I like to call "rabid Internet athiests", however, really wear on my nerves. There are plenty of them here on Y! Answers. Characteristics include extreme rudeness, intolerance, and an insatiable desire to piss people off. The most annoying thing is that most in this category are cowards who would shrink away from any real-world civilized conversation, but the anonymity of the Internet lets them pull cheap shots without fear of retaliation.

With that said, there are MANY of the atheistic persuasion on Answers that are very fair-minded and polite. It's just that small group of miscreants that make the rest of them look bad. Likewise, there are many right-wing religious nuts lounging about this site. It doesn't mean all religious people are bigots.

That is why generalizations are dangerous.

No, I don't think I've ever met an atheist. I don't dislike them, either. I don't really feel one way or the other about them. I think many people on here fell frustrated with them because they can't change their minds and convince them that believing is right; that God exists and this frustration leads to anger. Honestly, I don't really care if they believe or not. It's not going to stop me from believing.

Takes every-type kind of life to make up the world to see it's differences and there-by to be able to evaluate that which has worthwhile and that which isn't but atheists don't THINK about anything and have never produced anything because they don't think nor reason ( it does not exist ).....if such were blind they would 'see' more...if they are deaf 'they' would hear more.....all a person knows comes from seeing/hearing/feeling...and what other have 'taught 'you' 'you' learned from the nature of things.....and some other ways....but it all existed already ....'you' just changed the elements about...( and not nessesarrily for the better..)....

Should they not exist? Oh... I thought we were all god children, that means you must disagree with Christianity. Shame on you, you are going to hell. Most religious nuts don't like atheists because of what they stand for. Thought. Fact. Truth. These things frighten most religious people. These things are too big for them. If the task of defending your beliefs is that hard, maybe you should give up. That normally means your wrong. Also, this does not sound like you are being tolerant, sinner. Well most atheists don't care about your type either way. Your just not that important. We don't much care about your superstition. I just like to mess with you, and if you are frustrated, it is working.

Well, if you judge people so severely for something as simple as having an opinion that differs from yours, you are violating the most fundemental principals the wonderful creator of this universe set out for us. There are so many infinite brands of Atheism, besides, that the majority of the Atheists I know(and respect dearly) are in fact not true Atheists, rather call themselves such because they don't believe in a.) God(a masculine force) or b.) Being dictated to in terms of their own personal faith.

I don't actually care seeing as I am not an atheist but an Agnostic
Theists believe in gods,Atheists believe in no gods, and I could not care less except for the curious effect of the emphasis on gods or no gods as polar opposites with beliefs not considered in any way at all. They are both still trapped in black and white , yes no, true or false thinking, they deserve each other
