Just a few ideas... board games, make cookies or other simple baking and food, jewelry making with $5 worth of beads, roller blading, movies, the local swimming pool, bike riding, go for short walks if the parents allow it.
A ten year old likes a friend, and will tell momma and daddy to hire back the one who plays best...
The dancing answer is good, so is dressing up, she might want to be a star!
The best move of all is to ASK HER!
She will let you know if something is dumb to her or fun for her. 10 year olds are good at that.
Much luck and blessings.

First ask her what her interests are. Then go from there.
Some ideas: Make up a story, have a subject, then go back and forth between the two of you, providing one sentence each. It could turn out to be a funny story. Then draw pictures to go with the story.
Buy some inexpensive craft kits, like making bracelets, the Klutz series has a lot of good things to do.
Hope this helps!

I have a ten year old stepdaughter and she is at the stage where she still enjoys kids games and toys, but she is just on the verge of being a teenager, so she feels awkward giving in to her childhood tendencies. She really enjoys playing video games and watching movies. She and I go on bicycles rides, and when we go shopping, or anywhere in which decisions must be made I include her in all of those decisions. It makes her feel grown-up, but she knows I am still there, just in case. All the answers have been pretty spot on - keep playing the kid games, but remember that she won't want to be treated like a little kid. Talk to her like she's your friend (censored of course), and just hang-out. Taking her to a cafe would be super fun for her and you would enjoy it too.

go to your wallpaper store where they sell wallpaper ask for old wallpaper book they don't use. Take it to her house and make homemade all occasion cards which would cost barely nothing except glue. You cut out the wallpaper samples with those dollar store fancy edging scissors that make a nice edge and cut out and design cards with glitter, flowers, be creative etc then you have a gr8 project and opens the mind to artistic ways.. listen to cd's while ya do this. You can also pick up leaves flower petals little things that may be interesting for those on a nature walk .

I would just get to know her as a person and try to establish a friendship. Chances are a young girl like that looks up to you the teenager so see yourself as a friend and not just a babysitter.
Ask her what she likes to do and try to remember what you liked to do when you were that age. I had two daughters...my oldest one would babysit and she would do the little ones hair, play games witt her (card/board games), go for walks to the park, she's just a girl like you....it's a piece of cake...good luck!

find out what she likes. If she is in to make up and clothes bring fashion magazines. See if she likes any games. The key is to ask her and then go with that. Have fun!

In addition to asking the girl, you could certainly ask the parents what their daughter likes to do. Or you could suggest some things to them to see whether they think the activities are appropriate.
