There is no proven studies with this regard.. it is harmful though if you drink them all the time (2-4 meals a day!) because it's your kidneys that do most of the filtering of the protein shake products. You are better off eating high protein food than getting shakes... but I do believe having one shake after your workout is beneficial.

Excess of any thing is bad. Health drinks have preservative that can damage liver and create disorder in normal functioning of stomach.

Hello..positively in the long run they cause their bad effect not only for the liver functions ,but also to other systems.They contain too much additives(not just let's say healthy ingredients.which "boost" your energy etc.) but also bunch of artificial aromas,colours,preservatives etc.I used to drink when I was in gym,but they have only instant effect and then pal we have only one life and body..So I give up taking them..Luck!!
