Call the credit card company and tell them your situation. Close the card, too, so you won't charge any more.

You don't want bad credit; it will only spiral down from there, marring your reputation and your ability to make larger purchases in the future.

Just make a call to your credit card company and explain your situation. The credit card wants to be paid so they will lower your payment. This may hurt your credit but I think it would be best before you get further behind. Also, stop using the card, or you will continue to have financial problems. I hope you will take this advice because it will help. Good Luck!

You have some choices.
Not pay and wait for the next Bill and pay the late charges.
Pay whatever you can, even if, it less than the minimum.
Call the Company and ask to speak with a Credit Counselor and tell them your situation and ask what you should do.

You should check to see if you have a credit protection account on your card...when you received your card...you should have received information on "grace periods" and unemployment insurance...My mastercard will pay my minimum balance for several months while I'm out of work...for instance...if not..consider a personal loan...or worst case scenario...open a new credit card and transfer your balance...which I don't recommend...you can really screw up your rate...but late payments on your credit can be truly damaging..

Call the credit card company and work something out. It shows you are willing to take responsibility. Also don't use it again until you have it paid off. You do that it won't reflect too bad on your credit score.
