Blind faith is to blindly accept such a claim. However, supposing someone has really seen "the light", what does this proof? Why should this not be a hallucination? (This is *spiritual* light we are talking about, of course - but even physical light might be a hallucination...) Why should this not be caused by a chemical process in the brain? I once saw the light during a mushroom trip... It was beautiful. I have the integrity, however - the intellectual conscience - not to interpret this hallucination as anything other than a hallucination.

Who calls what blind faith? If your talking about Christianity. There is no such thing as blind faith. Actually Christianity is the reasonable answer to faith at all. I just don't have enough faith to believe in Darwinism, or any other faith that denies that there is a God. Nor do I have enough faith to believe that we as humans are God. Nor do I have enough faith to believe that if we just live right we can be okay. Sorry I need evidence of reasonable faith to believe. The most reasonable is that there is a God that is higher than all of us. He has a reasonable plan for our lives. We can choose to follow His plan or not. That is reasonable and not some blind faith.

It is blind, because people just do as they are told. You blindly follow the churches orders. You do not think for yourself, or ask questions, you just do as you are told. The seeing of the light is a bs rumor in most cases. It is like when a group of people are sitting scared in the dark. One says they saw something, and the others will say they saw it too, even when they did not. This is called the group mind. The others with near death experiences, are just seeing the side effects of their brains dying. And a small percent are having a bad trip on acid. So the ones that do see the light are just having their brains act weird.

., blind faith is just that faith that leads the blind, if you walk in the light your eyes are open and you are no longer blind, Jesus said for those that have .eyes to see and ears to hear, Jesus message was not in a temple or church with walls , the church is inside the spirit is within faith is knowing and not to know is the church of blind faith, we need no wall we need no temple we are the way the light and the truth but only when we have eyes to see . the church is a organized business taking form the weak(blind) and the poor of spirit as Jesus said the poor of spirit will find the kingdom. he knew the blind in faith are truly blind and as he said forgive them for they know not what they do, the Church with its taking is truly blind the light that so many has seen needs no walls , and will never say they live my blind faith for they know .. the light is not blind.

Because faith blinds people to the truth and they haven't seen any light only the light they wanted to see.

The Apostle Paul was "blinded by the light" (as opposed to groping in the dark) because LOVE IS BLIND.
But on the flipside, Jesus said that blind would lead the blind into a pit. By that he meant those who were spiritually blind. Either you are spiritually blinded (like in darkness) or you are madly in love with God and have power to see (because of the light).

Blind faith can also be called obedience. It is not necessarily a good thing to be enlightened. That is the theme of the Eden story. I'm not talking about facts, knowledge, or understanding that science offers. I'm talking about Wisdom, that comes at a high price. Those with Wisdom, have their eyes open, and often wish it were not so.
It is not wise to enlighten people. Leave that up to God.

Like love is blind, people become passionate about things that are mysterious.
Religious leaders interpret the words in their own way to get the followers excited. Pope Benedict is not the same as Pope John Paul II is not the same as Jesus. The Muslim leaders each lead differently, some teach peace and some stir people up.

Blind faith.. just another way of saying blind to the truth. Cause if they ever got their heads of the sand, there's no way they could believe the things they do.
