More than 35 years ago, I left the Catholic church because of the incongruities. For example, sex is considered evil unless you are married and some priests even go as far as saying it is only to be used for procreation purposes. So why all the raging hormones? Why do people want to have sex so much, even while alone? If you think that it "evil" do you not realize that most Christian religions believe God is the one who created Sex and all these desires? Isn't that ironic.
So if you are still in church you don't really beleive in why do you continue? Why not be true to yourself. Why not explore your life and find what you need to be happy? Won't you be able to make a better contribution? Maybe our earth wouldn't be in such trouble if more people did this. What do you think?

To jmmevolve: Yes, I have created my own life and so many people go balistic when I describe it to them! My question is mainly to those people...maybe by quietly thinking about these things, they'll get a better understanding of themselves and others.

churches are manmade as are their rules. Following your own heart in spirituality is your best barometer of a successful life. Why worry about their rules? Create your own life and be the best you can be.

This is way I go to the church that I do. I belong to The United Church of Christ and I could never see myself being a member of any other church. I try every day to live what I believe. If you don't, then you are just a member of a social club and the church has no meaning.
I/we don't consider sex to be evil. It's wonderful and should be a part of love. It depends on intent. For example: the use of sex as a weapon is evil. It is not a tool for gaining power in a relationship.
I love my church and all it stands for. You're right. People need to search to find what they need and what makes them happy. I was lucky enough to find it.

You probably don't want to hear this, but sex was intended for a husband and a wife only. For the purpose of becoming one with one another and enjoying eachother in marriage, as well as starting a family. Sex is one of the weaknesses of humans. The uncontrolable urges and "sexual desires" as you put it are there because satan knows that is one of our greatest weaknesses, and the easiest way to make us sin and dis obey God. He knows God hates for non married people to have sex.
God created all the sexual desires to be applied only to your husband or wife. No that is not ironic. Our world is in all this trouble because people are sinning with their flesh every day and focusing on that, instead of focusing on God.
If you did this you would not have that problem with always wanting sex and not being maried.
Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
This scripture speaks of our world.
1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
People can ignore the word of God all they want, but this is what God says about that..
1 John 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
There is a wonderful life waiting for those who obey God and keep his commandments long after this world is gone.

You are exaggerating big time!
Tell us, exactly WHERE in the Catholic Church doctrines does it say that sex should only be used to procreate?
According to the Cathlic church, sex outside of marriage is considered a "sin" BUT the church admits that there are GREATER sins that one needs to worry about. No one is going to get cast out of the church because he/she's had premarital sex.
Don't be so sensationalistic. Look around, read the paper, who is creating mayhem and wars? Catholics??? Pleeze!

I don't really know about religious integrity but integrity as a whole should be a life practice. I agree that people who are not walking the walk and talking the talk shouldn't be in church it causes people to speak bad of God's good. But in all reality church is not just church. I call it a hospital. Jesus states himself that he came not for those who think they are well but for the sick.(Matthew 9) Sin makes all of us sick. Just like when we are physcially sick, we have to go to a hospital and see a Doctor. We are in need of a spiritual healing as well. All of us need to go to a spiritual hospital and see Dr. Jesus.

More than Religious integrity we should think about abolishing of religions.
Sex is not a sin - it is God's blessing in our body.
Every child has the right to know and to be looked after by his/her parents. Abortion is murder. If you can take care of these points, sex is the true entertainment given to us by God.

Well, don't we all TRY to live it? And aren't we flesh? The Word says, "the spirit is willing and the flesh is WEAK!" (Mark 13:4)
That's why God counts us perfect who trust in Jesus.
"For I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day. "(2 Timothy 1:12)
