All the websites that have them for sale are very expensive. $100.00 or more. My poor dog needs a haircut but I can't afford that much. I want to be able to do it myself on a regular basis.

You can buy pet clippers a Wal-Mart for $19.95. These are good clippers. You don't get all the extra and, mostly unneeded, extras of the higher priced sets.

The Wal-Mart I go to has sets at $29.95, $39.95 and $49.95 and the ones mentioned above.

All my dogs were and, is short hairs. A small stray was a coming around all the time and his fur was matted very bad. I would feed and water it, so it started hanging around. Every time I tried to pet him, he would wimper in pain from the matted fur pulling his skin. I purchased the cheap clippers at Wal-Mart and clipped all the matted fur. He had a buzz cut like a basic trainee. I give him a trim with those clippers every month. Been doing it for 14 months now. I just clean and oil the clippers after each use.

Yes, he is my dog now. Had him fixed and shots, so I decided to keep him. My English Bulldog and Mixed Breed hound passed from age, so I kept him. My female Chihuahua doesn't like it, but she's been a Bit*h from day one.

Just go to Wal-Wort and buy the Clippers they sell for people. They work good and cost about $15-20. Clean and oil them regular. They may come with some oil. Or use something like the 3-M Machine Oil or Marvel Mystery Oil.
