we are giving our guests an envelope with a sticker on it that says "Wishing you riches from the new Mr. & Mrs." and inside the envelope (its a small, see through vellum envelope) is a heart/love themed lottery ticket with a penny from the year of our wedding (2007 for ours). If I were at a wedding, I think I would much rather have a lottery ticket with the potential of winning some moola than a CD with some other people's favorite songs on it or a picture frame that doesn't match anything else in my house. Think about giving your great uncle or someone like that a cd of songs he's probably never even heard of. Probably 95% of the people won't even listen to the CD so it'd be a waste of money. The lottery ticket ides is only costing us $1.23 per one. We are getting the envelopes for cheap on ebay. Good luck!

Although gifts are not a necessity they are a nice gesture. There are the standard chocolates, mints, or denture splitting almonds. Today the trend is toward more thoughtful and unique favors. If you and your fiance share a passion such as fine art you could give each guest a pack of fine art playing cards. Or another personal gift would be a family cookie recipe with a little bag of pre made mix. Little touches like that are very memorable.

something useful and if you're a practical person just include in your invitations that you prefer to receive cash.i know that it's kinda ewe but all of us need money.if you can observe in some weddings, the bride and groom are receiving more or less the same gifts.for me it would be better if i could receive cash atleast i will be able to buy those other things which are also important which i wasnt able to receive during my wedding day.what if there are 4 people who will going to give you the same gift?i just hope that it's kinda important for you to use guys especially that you are still starting a new life (married life). what are you going to do with those other 3 the same gifts???it would have been better if they were able to give you a cash as their gifts. i mean i hope you were able to view what i am trying to imply that cash would be very better

I don't believe in spending money on stuff nobody is going to use. What I did was donated money in each couple's name or single's name to the American Diabetes Association. I have Diabetes myself and my father passed away from Diabetes related issues - so my husband and I were both on board. So find a cause you and your partner really care about and donate the money you would have spent on what I see as "crap". This is just my opinion, please do not take offense. GOOD LUCK.

I gave trees (blue spruce seedlings) . Many of the guests did plant them. It has been fun watching then grow over the years at our friends homes.

I had beer mugs printed with our names and the date of our wedding... they were extremely useful at the reception. People used them throughout the night and took them home.

I gave out bubbles & mints with our names & wedding date on them. I bought the bubbles from the dollar store & tied curly ribbon on them and I ordered the mints online.

I bought picture holders, and used them as seating card holders at the same time.
There are the ones I bought: (you can find them on sale for less than $1 a piece)
