Spirituality transcends reasoning. Hence the term "leap of faith"? So don't bother with semantics. You should be flattered there are people praying for you here, jim. I know I would if I were in your shoes. lol.

you really can't, and some of the holy rollers are on a mission to make you go their direction. Some religions believe they must Go Forth", and show others the way. They don't realize, they are pushy and come close to coming off as ignorant. I know someone who said about 4 church "significants" came to their house during supper and ruined a nice evening with all their preaching and praising the Lord. I believe in God, but I believe it's supposed to be a personal relationship and I keep it that way.

God is an energy that has no concept of right or wrong and any earthbound being who looks at life with such disdain cannot be reasoned with and their ignorance is their prison. They are trapped in the propensities of the "desire to receive for the self alone". Send them love and kindly move on.

The opposite way you reason with people who think: “if God is right, I don’t wanna be wrong.” To the first, you simply nod your head, agree, and back slowly away; to the latter you open your ears, mind and heart and approach cautiously.

u can't. perhaps u could demonstrate how they need to be more open-minded with sam harris(?)'s example of the diamond in the backyard. but this will probably lead to a "burn in hell" lecture/sermon.

You can't reason with that type of blind faith. You'd have a better chance of convincing your dog it's a cat.
