Some people with add and adhd have a sleep disorder, some have brain damage, some have diet issues, and I have heard add may be mini seisures. Best bet. Look into sleep issues....eat whole grains, less sugars and no soda. Stimulants in comparison to many other mental health drugs are definitely one of the least harmful medications for major mental health issues.

I think it would be caffeine...lol, but I dunno. That might make it worse. I think a lot of people think they have, or their children have, ADD. I think sometimes that it is a load of crap. No one ever heard of ADD 50-60 years ago. I just think now-a-days people are trying to make excuses for bad kids. I also think that now-a-days people just have a TON of stress and too many things on their minds. No wonder it is hard to concentrate! If its not worrying about money or family or the worlds problems it is something else! Maybe everyone should go fungshue or do yoga or something. I bet ADD would be cut in 1/2.

My one year old son was dignosed with add two years ago.
I had to take him off the medication when it got to the point he
wouldn't ever laugh or smile. I have worked with him, ever sense
helping him stay constraint one things. like building blocks. for an hour a day. just helping him stay focused on one thing at a time.
cutting down sweets. Getting him involved in out door activities.
I dont think any child needs a drug for add. they need guidence,
help them get involved in activities.
