The Bodies Of Dead Soldiers?
Why is it o.k. for the news and media to show the bodies of foreign soldiers but not the bodies of U.S. soldiers?
-------------------------------------

Foreigners are animals, one can do anything to them, BUT US's..? O' Jesus, no, noway.
Also mum and dad may know the truth , then Bushy would NOT be able to recruit proper soldiers and has to become a little more expensive also very messy.

Rarely are the bodies of ANYONE shown unless it is during a press conference held by the military (Zarqawi, etc.) or if it can be used to criticize the USs handling of the war. To show the American soldiers as dead would be to create sympathy for their plight and might prove that they ARE fighting a ruthless enemy. However, to show the Iraqis as dead can be spun negatively against the US. It's the same reason why we NEVER see any pictures of the dead bodies of civilians from 9/11, but anytime Osama bin Laden farts it makes the 6 O'Clock news.

Because the intent of the rule barring US Media from showing the bodies of US soldiers is that it hurts morale, both for the troops and on the homefront, whereas showing the bodies of the enemy tends to promote morale, and make people feel like we are accomplishing something. The media, being the soulless leeches that they are, exploit every opportunity to create sensational journalism, instead of providing an unbiased view of the facts as they are. The media sucks.

Because if the american public knew just how many US servicemen and women were coming home in boxes, as opposed to the sterilized numbers the Bush admin releases, there would be a riot.
Why Bush hasn't been dragged out of the white house and strung up with his own guts yet is a mystery to me.

Because the US military protects our dead from the exploitation of the news media.

It's out of respect of the families of that soldier.

I do not know the answer....but I remember Vietnam...and the press is not doing it's job today. America needs to "feel" this war and remember our troops are in other places like Columbia, Bosnia, Border patrol etc...etc.

I do NOT believe we need to see ANY dead soldiers. It's pure sensationalism.
