Because of our freedoms, the morals and religions vary...within certain limitations of the law. It's much different than a country where most of the citizens have the same religion. Especially if the religion has control over the government.

As a whole, the majority of Americans do not believe teen pregnancies, gay relationships or criticizing another's belief is acceptable. But, we don't treat these people as outcasts or criminals either...at least we shouldn't. We have separation of church and state so morals, while influenced by religion, are really determined by the society as a whole. The religion does not dictate what the morals will be. This may be very different from some Islamic countries or those where one church is dominant, like predominantly Catholic countries. All religions are welcome here, even the lack of a religious belief, so we must be tolerant to protect those freedoms. Many things are a matter of individual choice, not mandated by the government.

Political values and religious values are not the same thing. Religion is not a part of our laws. It is a choice. Sex outside of marriage is still considered adultury by many Christians. However, even so, they also believe in forgiveness and love.

Free speech is not mocking religion. What value is a religion or belief system if the only reason one follows it is because it's the law? It is more powerful as a personal choice.

It is not actually considered adultery in all religions, mostly just the Judeo/Christian/Islamic ones. However, the west is in a state of psycho/social turmoil caused by aggressive technological development and overpopulation. Frankly, most religions worldwide, from what I have seen, mock or deride any other religion, and that free speech merely makes it physically safe to do so. In the west (or in the US, anyway), the morals are dictated by the religious or family upbringing of the individual. As we have a widely disparate religious background, that is highly variable.
However, it is NOT okay for young girls to have relationships and be pregnant; only adult women, and then, once again, it depends on their particular upbringing.

Why u picking on girls? Why is it ok for men in the west to have relationships with girls? Why don't u try asking that one instead of picking on women. U should ask why is it ok for people in the west to have sex before marriage? That's coz in the west people are allowed to have free will. Why are people in the east allowed to treat women so badly? Why are people not allowed to choose they're religion? Why are some people in the east not allowed to marry the one they love? Where's the morals in that? I age that mocking religion by being nasty and offensive is wrong, but I think they're is nothing wrong asking questions about religion. I don't see anything wrong with sex before marriage as long as one is careful. Usually if the pregnancy happens out side marriage it was accident or the people who were having sex weren't wearing protection to prevent the pregnancy. A lot people that have sex before marriage are in a long term relationship with each other. Don't anything wrong with being Gay. If 2 people love each other why shouldn't they be together even if they're same sex? I don't think people choose to be gay. They're are gay animals. If being gay is a choice what do u think those gay animals were thinking before they decided to become gay?

It's not adultery unless one or both people involved are married to someone else.
We are not a theocracy. Religion does not make our laws here. We are a secular gov't and vote on which laws we want in place. There is no punishment for a girl/woman to be pregnant, not married and have a relationship with a boy/man.

Unplanned pregnancies happen because religious fanatics make it difficult for young people to get either proper sex education or contraceptives. It suits them to keep the kids ignorant, fearful, guilty, and impoverished, because those teenagers are statistically more likely to belong to a church when they're adults.

And you're not fooling anyone: We know these things happen in "the east" as well as "the west" because people are the same everywhere.

Morals?

Don't harm others, don't harass people, don't impede anybody elses democratic rights, don't break the law, religion is seperated from state, people have rights to their own religion or to not have one, people are equal regardless of race, religion or creed, don't force your opinions on anybody else.

Free speech is a moral, you have a right to express you opinion, so long as it doesn't harm others or affect their rights to do the same.

You sound rather condescending actually, I'm one of the 'immoral' people according to you, I was pregnant before I got married, 14 years on, I'm still with my sons dad, funny though because most of the people I know who got married are now divorced. It's because we live for the moment, we believe in the here and now, and we are allowed to do and believe whatever we want without our parents or the government killing or maiming us for it. I hope that answers your question.

if you are talking about morals, you should not be talking about the western people only...eastern, northern and southern people also have issue with morality....if you point 1 finger out at others, you will have your own 4 fingers pointing back at yourself....
