He is not trying to mate. He is showing you that he is the boss or the dominate dog in the pack. You need to leash train the dog and make sure you show him you are the pack leader and in the dominate position. Training should be done in these steps: Exercise, (a walk on the leash) discipline, (correcting any bad behavior), reward, (praising the dog for correct behavior). All puppies try to hump, even females. It about dominance not the need to procreate.
Make sure the dog is submissive to you when you walk and play. Never let the dog lead you with the leash and when playing the dog should be taught to lay on it's back and you should rub it's belly. Never let the dog get on top of you while playing, it will assume dominance.

Dogs are pack animals, and every pack has a leader (the alpha dog).
Right now your puppy is testing the waters to see if he is alpha. If you allow this you are setting yourself up for problems down the road.
What appears to be cute and most have been known to chuckle at certain behaviors, are in truth warnings of potential problems on the horizon.
While a misbehaved little dog might only be annoying, with larger breeds it can become dangerous.
Your baby is growing up, time to let him know who's the boss and it isn't him!

Because he feels Dominance over you. You need to show a lot more authority to show him that you are his boss and not the other way around. If he is not neutered it is time, but only because we dont need other doggies around. Humping has nothing to do with sexual acts for dogs, they are not like humans. I would just suggest swatting him off gently each time and yelling know everytime. Soon he will understand he is not the boss.

He is showing you he is the boss. You need to knock this crap off right now, as it'll only get worse the older the dog gets. Shake him off with a very firm NO!!!!!! And do the same thing each and every time he tries it.

The dog is trying to show to you that it is the Alpha, it may be funny now but you should make sure you firmly stop him or her from doing this as soon as it starts, it could make for more problems for you later.

Well i cant say why he chooses your leg, but i can say if a vet says he's old enough it's time to get him neutered
