Why discourage it, that's less food you have to buy the dog. LOL

I've never had a dog that didn't snack on"buried treasure". I had to move the litter boxes into a closet, or a space where I could close the door, just leaving a space small enough to let the cats go in. Good luck!

Why don't you get one of those cover things for the litter box, so the cats can get in and do their thing but the dog can't get at what's in there?
Or, is your dog so small that he/she can get in there as well?

Dogs will be dogs. You'll probably have better luck just training your dog that its bad to eat from the litter box.

have the litter box covered........or invest in one of the automatic scooped type litter boxes.

Dogs do this when they are lacking something in their diets. Kitty snacks are the favorite thing for the dog to go after!

Call your vet too and ask for suggestions.

Check out foster&smith.com. There are tablets that you can give your dog to make it seem less appetizing to eat poo. Or check with your vet.
