I wrote this as an answer a little while ago. But it warrants feedback. In the book of Revelations John is clearly told he must return to earth to preach again, and when Elis returned he would be the forrunner of Christ (clearly John the Baptist), and again there is no doubt the bible says Jesus is the second Adam. There are many other statements of the Bible like these that clearly outline that reincarnation is real.

If I read all the verses quoted, I can see the argument on both sides of this question (tho' it's a really interesting one)!
However, I think that the Bible often contradicts itself, and I think that God speaks to us in more than one way.
I don't find anything that specifically denies reincarnation in the "Good Book", and I don't think that God gives us only one chance to get it right, so I'm keeping an open and hopeful mind.
Thanks for the stimulating conversation!

Sorry that's out of context.
The Bible says in Hebrews 9:27 "And as it is appointed unto men ONCE to die, but after this the judgment: "
It does not says appointed to die again and again, and to be born again and again.
In the bible, there is a mention of 2nd death and re-birth. But, it is not reincarnation, the 2nd death is to be put in hell; and re-birth, bapism. It' will never pass the criteria of reincarnation because reinarnation literally means "to be in flesh again". To be put to hell, you do not need new flesh nor in baptism.
After 2nd death and re-birth, there is no 3rd, 4th...so on...
Now, please site the verses for this: In the book of Revelations John is clearly told he must return to earth to preach again
The adam thing. You see, only if you read the a verse before you'll learn its meaning.
I Corinthians 15:44 clearly defines it .
"It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
Adam means man. That is why adam is being used here. It defines two kind of man, the heavenly man and the earthly man.
Adam was the FIRST earthly man.
Christ on the other hand is the FIRST heavenly man.
Now, you said "There are many other statements of the Bible like these that clearly outline that reincarnation is real."
I said " that's because you are trying to convince yourself that there are"
What Bible EXPLICITLY says it is appointed unto men ONCE to die.
What you cited are your pre-conceived idea.

Adam was the only other man to have ever lived without sin.... where does it say John was told he has to come back to earth??It doesn't say that! He was told to go eat the little scroll and so he went and ate it and then they went on with the revelation. It says that the angel told him he had to prophesy again ... says nothing about returning to earth. He was already ON earth when he was shown these things. He wasn't in his own prophecy lol!

Has ressurection the same essence as reincarnation? The way I understand it ressurection is the conquest of death and the person who died is still the same individual who will be judge by what he was on earth while reincarnation is transcending from one individual into another and could be either the higher or lower form of life. I am not sure if i understood it right.

Your scriptures have nothing to do with reincarnation.1 Cor. is saying just the opposite.Rev. is referring to Johns vision and the fact that he must write it.And as stated he has witnessed to multitudes through his writings.
I believe you are a little confused.

you got it - but keep digging, and search why.
"John the Baptist came and you did not recognize him."
Look up Melchizadek in Genesis (meeting with Abraham), check the Psalms that talk about this Melchizadek, and you'll get even more excited about what you are onto.

yes, and i think about "second come of Jesus" is also about reincarnation... He loves us humanity so much that He would probably want to help us again..

You may have a point there. But I am curious where it says that Jesus is the second Adam. I'm not trying to be "smart,"... I really want to know. Thanks.
