There are a few states that doesn't collect state income taxes. There is the retirement state Florida that doesn't collect state income tax. Nevada doesn't collect taxes either; the state earns its revenues through the casinoes. To round it off, Texas, New Hamshire and Tennessee does not collect taxes, but a few of them may have dividend and interest taxes.
Alaska and North Dakota doesn't collect taxes, but it doesn't rate high of the list of places to live.
Good luck on your research...

If you are looking for the best deal tax-wise, live in Washington State just north of the Oregon border. Do all your shopping in Oregon.
Washington has no state income tax, and Oregon has no state sales tax.

I know PA doesn't have sales tax. I live right on the border of PA and Ohio, and a lot of people go shopping over there. They do have tax on food, and in Ohio, we don't unless you sit down and eat! It's crazy how different places have different taxes! And hotels... they have lodging tax, and some places have a lot more taxes than that!
