In England, years ago, girls were married off very young. It was at that time. It was a custom in those years.

In Germany, the same.

Austrailia the same.

USA, the same; young girls were married off very young.

And same goes for Arabs, they married their daughters at a young age, it was at that time a custom, a culture, which wasn't alien to their land.

Now, do Muslim men marry underaged girls today? Nop.

Now, why don't you question about the way girls aged 16 being pregnant without marriage. It's happening big time in the west and no one is chatting about it.

It depends on the society not Islam. Islam prohibits any thing harmful, like having sex with a child!. Girls reach puberty at an early age (starts from 9 years old). So if you come to the physical side they are capable of it (sex). The problem is with the emotional side and whether she is ready or not and this depends on the society. You find in tribal people that a girl is mature at an early ages like 11 or such. So it is natural to find them getting married earlier. While on the other side, civilized people, girls tend to mature slower like in the ages of 15 or even 18. So you find them marry after finishing high school or such.
To summarize, in Islam any thing harmful is prohibited. A girl can be married only if she agree. The matter of age depends on the society.

Islam has been for milleniums and nothing has changed its ideas. so If 3000yrs ago men chose underage girls and their religion hasnt changed, wjy would it change on marriage age.

its a history.. now it does'nt happen.. it used to happen in arab when it was also happening in each and every other part of the world. but now its more of a problem for western countries than muslim countries. u know here girls get married after being an adult but in western countries a large number or women get pregrant without even getting married before the age of 16.. so go do somethin about ur countries first before raising ur finger on some other community.

Islam does not allow the marriage of anyone who is under the age of puberty.

if you look not even too long ago, maybe in early 1900, people used to get married when they were 12,13. it was completely normal, because they already reached puberty. go ask your grandparents.

it rather is a fallacy, equivalent rights do no longer exist between the sexes. people will have faith in what they have been taught to have faith in view that early existence. It makes me so mad as a woman.
