They keep it quiet and move priests who commit these crimes to other countries. They buy off the families of the children with money they stole from us over centuries.

Their followers are going to just deny these things are happening. I guess it's impossible to explain how this happens.

I don't think popes are condoning it. Do you really believe that popes are that dumb? They also have to presume the suspect innocent unless proven otherwise, just like you and me. How can you judge them by only listening to one side? You have to consider both sides of the reason in order to get to the bottom of the controversy. I even beliueve that if it could be proven, those priest can't only look forward to the state penaty but also of the Vatican. If we will only beleive on claims of one side, how does that make you just. Who knows some might just like to use these children in order to exact money or destroy the Catholic faith. We will never know the truth if that is the kind of judgment that we all will have because we have already judge the man before getting into the real facts of the matter. And that's unfair too ! ! ! !

The "popes" did not condone any crimes against children. What was done was a very ignorant attempt to "protect" the church.

They can be presented as stupid human beings that caused great additional harm to children...... but it was never done with today's understanding that these actions were incredibly harmful and would be continued in new communities.

Bottom line: It was very wrong & the church is paying for it dearly. Condone is simply not the right word.

(Looks like you're full of hate... which also can be very damaging to yourself and others)

Why are you answering a question you asked and very ignorantly at that? Popes do not condone any form of child abuse by priests or anyone, neither do they buy anyone off. And which money did they steal from you please? you seem to be confusing the michael jackson affair with this. Go and get your facts from REAL sources and not from prejudiced hearsay.

I am not Catholic but do not appreciate people who use the name of Christ and do derogatory things. Even popes shall be judged by God, they are not immune to judgment coz of their position. Being an apostle did not make Peter immune to his fleshly act of denying Christ or going back to his old trade. As long as we are in the flesh, the acts of the flesh shall pursue us, but it is so important to submit ourselves to doing the fruits of the Spirit. But on repentance and forgiveness from the Lord, He is able to change people and their destiny.
