It's chauvinists, and you can't avoid them - they're everywhere.
Just like people who can't be bothered to use a dictionary for big words.

Haha! I'm a dispatcher AND I'm a woman. I work with all male dispatchers and cops. Only two cops here are women! We do have some cops that don't like women, but who cares? You have to be tough at a place like this and not let little things bother you. Just remind them that they have a mother, probably a wife, and maybe even a daughter..How would they want them to be treated? They give me a hard time (mostly kidding) but I just give it right back! They better be able to take it if they can dish it out!! Turn it into something fun

Male chauvinism
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
Male chauvinism is the term for the belief that males are superior to females. The word "chauvinist" was originally used to describe someone who has a fanatical loyalty in one's country. The word was later applied by the women's liberation movement in the 1960's and used to describe men who uphold the belief of female inferiority.

Male chauvinists are sometimes opposed to feminism, and some view girls as second-class children. The opposite belief is called female chauvinism, and while certain masculists may consider it the definition of the word feminism, this view is not generally considered politically correct. Also, several male chauvinists are offended by pro-female gender gaps.[citation needed]

The epithet "Male Chauvinist Pig" has been reclaimed by some men as a jocular personal rebuttal or tolerance of such accusations.

I prefer the word, "gender bigot", because it can be used to describe both sexes who use negative prejudicial attitudes that have to do with a person's sex.
