i always seem to catch it as well, but no other members of his family including his mum don't,
it seems sometimes its just the two of us that seem to pass it back and forth,
we also seem to suffer from allergies and when the pollen is high we both have the same symptons, when no one else seems to suffer,
could it be something to do with mine and my sisters genes that has been passed on ?

It's just your immune system. Your sister is with the little one all the time so has built up an immunity (and pregnancy builds up immunity and that seems to stay). I would recomend you eat loads more fruit and bag and get loads of vitamins down you, this will help. Also, 9 year olds are always getting colds and stuff because of the mingling at school.
I always seem to be getting everything that goes round at work but my desk is right next to the air conditioner and we have no opening windows int he building so i get the full whack of the recycled germs.

I took allergy shots for over 2 decades and suffered from allergies, which kept me run down. Then I got an Ionic Breeze ionizer from Sharper Image and no more need for shots or antibiotics!
My nephews have allergies too and their mom and my mom got an ionizer and their allergies cleared up too.
I can't say enough about my ionizer. I tried others before, but none worked like this one.

Could be, but you most likely have a weaker immune system.

Also, if you take medicine too often, your body becomes dependent on it, and at times, your antibodies will become ineffective. If you take little to no medicine, however, your body is vulnerable to illnesses.

I don't know if that helps any. You may want to talk with your doctor and do some research.

The two of you should be tested by an allergist, only then will you have a concise diagnosis. It sounds like allergies, which can definitely be hereditary.
