I went from 226lbs., to 160lbs. But due to my lack of self control, especially during"that time of the month", no matter how much workout, I am not able to lose the last 10-15lbs. I neeed help to control this horrible habit.

Wow, you are my hero, you did great! Take a bow.

Ok, you lose control at that time of the month. How about planning for it! Maybe go to the Weight Watcher's website and find something that you really crave and make a light version of it.

Then invite your friends and family to share it, so you can have some but not pig out.

Maybe do one special item for each day, but announce your plan ahead of time so at the last minute you don't change your mind and decide to eat the whole thing.

Or you can also plan to eat your treat, but exercise extra to minimize the impact.

Ok, so you want to go and get an outrageous piece of cake that is 400 calories, buy it, cut it in 1/3s and have a 1/3 every day for 3 days. But add 1/2 hour to your workout each of those 3 days.

I think it is easier to control a craving if you know that something is waiting for you. And don't just eat it, make it an event. Set out a nice place setting, burn some candles, put on some quite music. Then use a toddler fork and have a small amount - savor it, taste it, feel the textures, concentrate on each morsel.

BTW: Do this after a healthy meal, do not sit down and do it when you are starving. It will not satisfy you. You will pig out some more.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Think of caloric intake like gasoline in your car's fuel tank. If you put it in and do not burn it up, it will sit there. First, do not get me wrong or misunderstand me. The best diet in existence for me personally is what I call the Schwinn Diet. Beats the Atkins, South Beach, Jenny Craig etc. Do not just buy a bicycle, use it. Then eat all you want. When I was in the Army, I ate 3 huge meals a day everyday. But, because I rode a bicycle at a good pace every other day on top of my anaerobic training regimen, I weighed in at 220lbs, but only had 12% body fat. My point is eat and eat and eat, just make it somewhat healthy and work it off. Calories are the units of energy your body's work output is measured in. So, work off those calories. Pick some good music for your walkman/mp3 player, find a place you like to go through and ride. It doesn't have to be a Lance Armstrong pace, just ride and have fun. Most people do not realise, but your body has sort of a protection/survival system to it. If you cut your caloric intake too much, your body will think you are "starving" and adapt to retain a higher percentage of the lower amount of calories you are giving it. So, just eating less usually will not work to help you lose weight. I have never liked running in place on a treadmill, so eat more, cause your body to burn up more and good luck.

Maybe you could try a replacement behavior. Think of something else you can do whenever you get the urge to pig out...something to keep you busy and your mind off of food. Or, if you have a tendency to pig out on junk food, try to eat fruits or vegetables as snacks instead.

Good luck!
