Because we are human. Some people worry more then others. it is in our make-up to worry about things and others. If people did not worry so much they would be less stressed. People need to take it easy. About the mosquito in the bedroom, get some bug spray and be done with it. how is your life better for stressing about it, it not. Take a deep breath and relax a bit.

When we worry, we're anxious about something. Sometimes we give ourselves reasons to be anxious, make stuff up in our minds. Sometimes we have very good reasons to be anxious, percieving reality as immediately threatening.
As far as little things go, I think most people worry about little thing when they don't have to. It becomes a bad habit. If we recognise it we could talk ourselves out of it. Or better yet a lot of the little things we worry about are things we can do something about. Example: find the mosquitoe and kill it. No mosquitoe no worry. Flyswatters are cheap.
Back to the why - it could be mental discipline. On a deeper level it could be an emotional disorder. And again, taking action can deal with the amount of anxiety we feel.

Boredom can magnify worries. Symptoms of depression can include, worry, anxiety, sleepless-ness, lack of appetite etc. I suspect your question may have been light hearted, but there are people who find 'little things in life' becoming overwhelming problems that distract from everyday life. There are loads of support groups and volunteer groups also that need helpers. focus your energy on external events, not worrying about inconsequential things. Although, saying that, I am sure the free spirited in our communties would believe even the little mosquito has a right to be seen and heard, even if not bitten by. Hope this is of some use.
