Of couse you can. You should really know this because you are a teacher! Use your common sense!!

What age level are you teaching at? How old are both of you? My gut reaction is no no no. I have been through something similar. It doesn't work. I think you use the word friends..to mean more than friends because friendship is harmless and benefits everyone and won't need a query like this. Anything more in a teach/student relationship cannot work and always ends in pain. This is especially true if the sudent is male and younger than you, the woman. What is the policy about these relationships at the institution where you work?
Do be careful!

Of course u can b friends. There's no harm in that.U did not mention the age difference. But no matter what the age difference.. u should tell your "friend" frm the very start that u will not get emotionally involved with him.Reason is.. once that happens than u will be sitting with very big problems especially when exams r approaching n he may start to trouble u for hints n stuff like that.A teacher/student relationship should best be professional n purpose would be to carve a good character out of him. A certain degree of friendship is required to do this successfully.Hope my advice helps.Cheers!

Yes you can, but it is not the same to be a teacher and student and to be friends. So both of you must behave differently in this two situations.

u was talking about this earlier. it sounded like he looked up to u and has respect for u. carefully make sure he knows just friends. if he does just want to be friends then u could have a great deal of influence on him. (like college)
