They are basically MAN-MADE. Ordinary men set themselves up as interpreters of the word of God.( Anyone who says they can interpret the word of God is a Blasphemer and deserves to burn in hell for eternity.) Then they argue about the name of God, who knows what God's name is/was? God does, I don't. Then it's wars about how God should be worshipped and who controls the Holy sites. Let's not forget the "Witch-hunts" as well. Let's burn and destroy anything we disagree with, just like the Romans did, ( the Romans held back the development of civilisation for over three hundred years.) And finally, if we don't get our own way, let's invade someone elses country and force our religion upon them, at gunpoint.

The idea of seperation from love . Religion is based on spirituality and that at its core is about a sence of oneness with ourselves and our environment, universe and the feeling of love . When we seperate ourselves and create belief systems that are about right and wrong , them and us , we create judgement, persecution, war, genocide, pain. Sadly the ironic opposite to what was often initially felt and understood........love.

All world religions throughtout history has been used to control rather than to inspire.
Thomas Jefferson once said...."Question even the existence of God, because if indeed he does exist, he would appreciate the homage of reason, rather than that of blindfolded fear."
Religion thrives on blindfolded fear rather than peoples quest to build their own personal relationship with the God in each one of us.
