I have known my husband for 26years, been married over 12 years. Trust is one main element. The other is I'm not a typical female. I don't whine, with hold sex, don't put us in debt. I don't bit** and moan. I have my own tool box and tools, and don't need him to do a lot of stuff for me around the house. I know the meaning of compromise. I think before being upset about something...I say to myself "Is this worth it"? If not, I keep my mouth shut. Plus the fact, he is the most wonderful man, I am blessed. He also trusts my judgment, after all I picked him, didn't I.

i still believe that the secret of relationship success is full matcing between the couple mindset, emotions and body needs with chemistry and full transparency .. which is telling the full story in full details with frankiness not to tell the truth of selected parts of every story ..
This despite i failed and got recently divorced after 22 years ..

I haven't ever been married, but I've talked to a lot of married couples, some have been together for 20+ years, and their secret is that they work together on their problems...they feel great affection for each other, and they work together.

Is the relationship with anyone in the family (as between parents or with children or among siblings) or school or workplace or society ? My mother kept us all happy at home and sacrificed her time, effort, energy, etc., so that we others at home could be free to study or to play or enjoy or to slog at work places like slaves and avoid trouble from avaricious colleagues & hope to get peace. She cared for sick neighbours & made food for them at her cost. She did jobs for them, organised events, repairs, errands to the banks, schools, doctors, lawyers, etc., to help them do their work. Yet we suffered damages from selfish, greedy cheats in the workplace & society. This is not the way to live.
