Islam is a wonder full faith. It tells us to be faithful to God, to believe in him. It promotes understanding and brotherhood. It is a pity that the actions of a few misguided terrorists who by some chance happen to be Muslims, are bringing a bad name to the whole faith. It brings in discipline in a person and tells us to fight the bad qualities in ourselves. All of us need to take these qualities into our lives.

In my opinion i do not think the fear derives from it being isolated.....there are lots of Muslims all over the world and is certainly not isolated...

....its because of the terrorists saying they are fighting for Islam...and also because the MEDIA (thanks again media!) that name tag these terrorists "Islamic Terrorists". The Media has created in our mind the world "Islam" and "terrorism" to adjoin together. It is Wrong! Why do they have to say their religion when explaining who they are? Its irrelevant.

It is amazing how the media can impact a community, or even a whole nation!

I lived in a country along side Muslim people and know the Quran. By the way, its a holy book like a Bible, and you should capitalize its name when you write it just as you would the Bible.
In fact the complete Old Testament is in the Quran. However, my people have been rather intolerant of the Muslim religion and are only recently even coming to the table to speak with them about political things. So, what do I think about it? I dont, I was brought up not to like that faith, so I do not. Period

I ahev read Quran many times and also most of prophetical statements. Many teachings of Islam are really wonderful. However, teher are some teachings that need some revisions, especially those related to kids/women/non-muslims.

I think Islam is a good religion with the view of there being only one God. However it misses the point of salvation. I think that so many unrelated cultures around the world have practiced the offering of animal sacrifices as a cure for sickness as God's way of preparing us to accept the concept of a Messiah being sacrificed for our sickness of sin.

God bless you!

Islam is a major world religion of tolerance and peace. Like other religions, it has been twisted and perverted to support acts of violence by a destructive minority of its believers. I have read the Qur'an in an effort to understand the violence in the Middle East.

i read Quran. i find it so prefect.it is better than Bible.Muslims believe in one god.he has all absolute good characteristics. they believe in all past prophets and believe the Christ is prophet. Qumran says do not force anyone to be Muslim. Qumran wanted the people to find out the world to believe in Allah and his capacity to create this world without needing help in anyone . he do not have woman and son. because he created them. he create the heaven and hell. heaven for the be livers and hell for disbeliever. Islam is logical religion more than Christianity.Islam order the Muslims to doing the good deeds and help the poor people. Islam want the people to know each other and live in peace . the goal is to worship Allah

I don't think about islam and it wouldn't really interest me at all, it never used to come up on my radar. Now I think about Islamicists more because we are forced to read about them, and I think about Christianists and other politically motivated religionists.

I did read the Qu'ran once and found it pretty dull, it's not a very big book and it's not all it's made out to be by those who say they've read it...I doubt they have.

hey!.. its the muslims who are a tormented lot. looted and plundered by the americans. blamed for soemthing which a few handful are responsible. how does this justify?... their homes have been invaded, people who had no ways of defending themselves have been bombed. islam has to be read to be understood. it is the truth the world had to accept!

I think it's all fiction, just like any other religion. The claims and arguments which are supposed to support the existence of 'Allah' are completely unsupported and invalid, as is the case for all religions. Moreover, just like many other religions some of the contents of its holy book are pretty horrible, e.g:

[2:126] "As for him who disbelieveth, I shall leave him in contentment for a while, then I shall compel him to the doom of Fire"

[4:56] Lo! Those who disbelieve Our revelations, We shall expose them to the Fire. As often as their skins are consumed We shall exchange them for fresh skins that they may taste the torment.

8:14 That (is the award), so taste it, and (know) that for disbelievers is the torment of the Fire.

10:4 ...as for those who disbelieve, theirs will be a boiling drink and painful doom because they disbelieved.

17:10 And that those who believe not in the Hereafter, for them We have prepared a painful doom.

18:29 Say: (It is) the truth from the Lord of you (all). Then whosoever will, let him believe, and whosoever will, let him disbelieve. Lo! We have prepared for disbelievers Fire. Its tent encloseth them. If they ask for showers, they will be showered with water like to molten lead which burneth the faces. Calamitous the drink and ill the resting-place!

22:19 These twain (the believers and the disbelievers) are two opponents who contend concerning their Lord. But as for those who disbelieve, garments of fire will be cut out for them; boiling fluid will be poured down on their heads, Disbelievers will wear garments of fire, boiling fluid will be poured on their heads, their bellies and skin will be melted, they will be tormented with iron hooks, and when they try to escape they will be driven back with the taunt: Taste the doom of burning.
22:20 Whereby that which is in their bellies, and their skins too, will be melted;
22:21 And for them are hooked rods of iron.
22:22 Whenever, in their anguish, they would go forth from thence they are driven back therein and (it is said unto them): Taste the doom of burning.

... And so on, and on, and on, and on, ad nauseum. Utterly vile. If you're going to make up a religion, at least make a nice one, that's what I say...
